I’d like to share my sincere appreciation for Carlos of the Front Desk at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa. Although I wasn’t a guest myself, I was the person responsible for coordinating and authorizing the hotel stays for our team attending a recent conference. As part of my role, I’ve been tracking and reconciling all the hotel charges for several attendees—and that’s where Carlos made all the difference. After a few frustrating calls to the front desk/operator, where I was told, “That’s just what we have and what shows on our records,” I wasn’t getting the clarity I needed for my credit card expense report. Then I had the pleasure of speaking with Carlos—and wow, what a breath of fresh air. He was kind, calm, and incredibly helpful. His steady, composed tone instantly made me feel reassured. Carlos took his time going over each charge with me, carefully explaining how pre-authorizations work and helping me match the actual posted charges to my credit card statement. He didn’t rush, didn’t brush me off—instead, he genuinely cared about helping me get it right. After dealing with so many confusing receipts, Carlos was exactly the support I needed. He knew what questions to ask and was so patient in walking me through everything. It may not sound like much, but after sorting through so many transactions, having someone at the hotel FD who actually got it made my day. So, thank you for your exceptional professionalism and warmth. JW Marriott is lucky to have someone like you representing their team.

We spent a few days at starr pass and had a wonderful time. All the staff was friendly and professional with a few that went above and beyond. From the front desk special thanks to Lauren and Carlos. You both made a great trip even better. From valet, thank you Chucky, Christian, and Brian. You take pride in what you do and it shows in the level of service you provide!

June 8, 2025 Dear JW Marriott Starr Pass Spa & Resort, On our first wedding anniversary, my wife and I reserved a cabana at the pool to celebrate this special milestone. Our server, Shelby, was exceptionally attentive and considerate, going above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. She offered thoughtful suggestions and helpful recommendations, making our day even more special. The level of service Shelby provided was truly outstanding and greatly contributed to creating lasting memories for us. We are grateful for her kindness and professionalism. My 11yr old son and I stayed for the weekend. We have stayed at Starr Pass before, but it has been a couple years. The resort itself is massive! It is easy to navigate though, and has much to offer. We were there over Memorial Day weekend, and the planned festivities every day was great. The pool area is fabulous….both for kids and adults. There are plenty of dining options, with something for everyone. This is the first time we had dinner at Passagio, and it was phenomenal. Staff is kind and always helpful. You come across employees who make the time to say hi as you pass by. Brianna checked us in and she was so kind and welcoming. The rooms could use a refresh, but that is already in the works! They have renderings of how the new rooms will look posted around the resort. How exciting! It will add to an already wonderful resort/experience. We are already talking about another staycation ;)

Built in the 1980s, it feels in some ways that you're transported back to that decade of excess, right down to the imitation gold elevators. But I'm not saying it in a bad way. This large property reminds you of old school luxury and attentive service of yesteryear. You can tell the property isn't new, but it's kept up well, and does not appear rundown at all. The staff is extremely softspoken and courteous. Somehow they meet the exact right tone -- highly respectful without coming off as phony. The pool scene is, by far, the best in Tucson. There are two pools in the main area, plus a lazy river with a waterslide, which will be especially appealing to any kids you might have with you. Even the standard rooms are fairly large, with a beautiful suite-like bathroom. I highly recommend the rooms with the city view, as you have a surprisingly scenic view of the entire Tucson area, about 1000 feet below. I would recommend you ask for the rooms facing the back of the property. Not only do these have the city view, but they are also much quieter. The ones facing the front are low to the ground because the property is against a hill. In the front, the "4th floor" is really the 2nd floor, whereas in the back you are truly on the 4th floor. The layout of the property is a bit confusing, but you will get used to it soon enough. There's even a Starbucks on the premises. Each room comes with a nice refrigerator with a windowed door. Oddly, while microwaves are available, they are next to the ice machine -- one per building! I really enjoyed my stay here and was sad to leave. I will be back!
