We arrived in Sapa on August 17 at 5am. We had previously spoken with the owner to do early check-in (with an extra cost). He assured us that when we arrived we could decide whether to check in early or not, but we arrived and he had no room available so he talked to the hotel next door and they let us stay in one of their rooms. Throughout the morning they give us the room. To start with the sink drain was broken and the water leaked onto the bathroom floor. We tell the reception and they tell us that they will fix it. When we return at night the entire bathroom floor is covered with water without having cleaned or fixed it. Also, when we go to sleep we notice that there are 2 worms on the bedspread and several others scattered around the room. We go down to reception and they send us a girl to change our sheets but we answer that the room is full of worms and that we want to change. The owner comes up, crushes the worms and tells us that nothing is wrong, that they are harmless. Finally we managed to get another room (in a lower category, because it didn't even have windows to the street). The owner of the hotel keeps repeating to me 'cancel booking' because she doesn't want me to write this review. The next morning when we check out he tells me again to cancel the reservation. To which I reply that if he cancels the reservation he will not pay for it, so he asks me not to put any opinion on booking. In the end he gives us a discount for the inconvenience and for changing the room to a lower one and we leave. Today (1 day after returning) I find that he has canceled the reservation as if we had not gone there when it is not true. I even have a video corroborating the worms. An embarrassment of a place. It's all very dirty, full of mosquitoes because the windows don't close properly and everything is damp because you can't even ventilate it. Zero recommended!
