Sandals Grenada All Inclusive - Couples Only

It's been just under a week since we've been back, so I will recount what I remember off the top of my head - if you're looking for a bargain/cheap vacation, this won't be it. But if you want top quality in every way - keep reading on. The location - it's minutes from the airport. So within about 15 mins of grabbing your bags off the carousel, you're at the reception desk being greeted and checked in. For those of you thinking ”but aren't the planes a nuisance?” - no. Grenada isn't a mainstream choice, so there are only like 5-10 total flights each day. And honestly, if you're paying that much attention to planes, you're not vacationing right. The grounds - exceptionally maintained - effort is put in daily on landscaping, cleaning, touching up, and it's a really well designed property. We'd watched a few videos before going and felt like it might be huge and confusing - not at all. VERY simple and intuitive layout with the restaurants easily and centrally accessible, and everything was easy to find. The people - this is a MASSIVE difference from anywhere we'd been before. The staff was absolutely incredible. Great attitudes, top notch service. It feels like a disservice to name names as I know I'll forget people who deserve mention, but Nigel, Jazz, Kwesi, both guys who DJed and did Karaoke, Leonard at tennis, the staff handling the hobie cats, Hensley (our chef at the Japanese restaurant), Rudy at the french - the entire wait staff at all restaurants, the cheerful staff in the cafe who literally seemed thrilled to make a milkshake or put together a plate of sandwiches... even the maintenance staff who in most hotels prefer to remain invisible - at this place, even they were also friendly and chatty. The people part two - the guests. Maybe we had an exceptionally lucky week, or maybe this is simply the type of people who visit a resort like this and it will just always bring out the best in them - but the other guests were amazing too. We met SO many nice people from all over the US, Canada, England, and other places. I guess it's hard to be anything but charming and in a good mood in paradise. The Nightly Entertainment - We're usually not big on the entertainment, but kudos to the staff on putting together some amazing shows, displaying some impressive talent, and putting on a pretty damn good SOCA party on our last night! The Water - This is honestly an interesting part that I've never seen a hotel offer so well. There were three levels of water engagement: For the extroverts: The south pool had music, trivia, games, volleyball, and a great vibe for people who want to drink, frolic and socialize. For the introverts: The quieter pool on the north and the beach were perfect for snoozing, relaxing, enjoying the ASMR effect of the waves... you could still socialize and enjoy others, but not in a loud setting. For the invisible: Some people just want nothing to do with anyone - and the hotel has semi-private or private pool options depe
True Blue Bay Resort

I enjoyed the genuine hospitality from the staff, the food, and the evening entertainment from True Blue Bay Resort. I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin (General Manager), Alisha (Concierge), and different staff members from Reception, the Rum Shop Bar and the Meet & Greet reception. The property is very charming with a boutique, multiple pools, a turtle viewing section, and a House of Chocolate shop on premises.
Royalton Grenada Resort

My cousins and I went on a 5 night/ 6 day trip to Grenada and stayed at the Royalton. Two of us had stayed at another Royalton in Antigua, so we somewhat knew what to expect. Overall, our trip was amazing!! The staff was so kind, caring, and attentive. The pools and beach were absolutely beautiful. When we needed or requested something, it was attended to very quickly. Even the medical care was amazing at the resort! One member of our party slipped on an excursion and she was taken care of at the nursing station on property, with follow-ups! Thank you to all of the amazing nurses and doctor who took such great care of her, especially Dr. Gilbert, Nurse Andrea, and Nurse Julianne. We stayed in an Oceanfront Diamond Club Suite, which had a beautiful balcony and the greatest butlers, who became more like friends. Kezia and Lindon, thank you for going above and beyond to make our stay so incredibly special (from decorating the room to getting an extra chair for the balcony to always checking in). Also, even though Brad was not our butler, he too become a part of our squad by making an effort to welcome us, get us settled, and help with whatever we needed. There is a bit of a hill to get to the main part of the resort and we would mostly walk, but there was also always the option of taking a buggy, which we appreciated. Our favorite restaurants were the Indian, Taj, and the Italian, Grazie. We ate a ton of delicious food! We also loved visiting the coffee shop for lattes, sweets, and even Nutmeg ice cream. Plus, there is nothing like having a tropical drink (or two) at the swim-up bar! For activities, we really enjoyed the Aquafit class and the balloon toss, but we were just as happy to wade in the warm ocean water or lounge in the sun. A few small cons that really didn't affect our overall enjoyment of the trip: -Many of the activities were cancelled or changed throughout our stay (this may be due to the fact that the resort only got busy when we were leaving- something we didn't mind, as we never had to deal with crowds). Also, we love earning prizes, but most competitions didn't offer any. -The spa does not have hydropools like some of the other Royaltons. -The buffet was just ok, which I have found to be fairly consistent across any of the all-inclusive resorts I have stayed at. **Some things to note before traveling to Grenada: -There are a lot of mosquitos, so bring good bug spray -Make sure that whatever cash you carry is in perfect condition- everyone takes American money, but no one can accept ripped bills as the Grenadian banks will not take them. Finally, some additional thank yous: -Leah, for your positive attitude and warm demeanor -Daniel, for being a great bartender -Chef Adrian, for the delicious omelettes accompanied by a serenade -Shakim and Tyrone, for always assisting us and keeping us safe -Akim, for offering a helping hand -Rocky, for indulging us and taking a ton of pictures for our photoshoot -Danielle, for organi
La Heliconia & Day Spa

We were not due to stay here, but due to the Coronavirus restrictions forcing us to cut short a stay on Carriacou, we stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was a little apartment with a kitchen, sitting area, dining table, bedoroom and bathroom. The hotel is on the road to the airport so there is traffic passing by all the time, but we didn't really notice it being invasive. The place was just right for our stay - waiting 2 days for our flight home. We were the only people staying there at the time, so started our self-isolation round the pool. This had nice loungers with comfy cushions on, and a sun shaded area with a nice breeze. It is on a steep slope so I would not class it as wheelchair friendly or for anyone with mobility problems. Our daily work out was walking up and down the slope to the pool which is at the top of the property. The restaurant was shut (as everywere on Grenada) but they cooked us breakfast which we ate in our room. In the evening we went and got a take away from the nearby Pun-jabi restaurant (see separate review). We had a friendly little Gecko staying with us in our bedroom who we named Trevor. He seemed to barely move at all, but I entertained myself with thoughts that while we slept he raced round the room doing circuits. The bed was large and very comfy. they had 2 enormous double wardrobes in the room containing about 4 hangers. This wasn't a problem for us as we lived out of our packed bags. I would imagine it's not the sort of place where you stay for a long time anyway. AC in the room was very effective. No ceiling fan. The shower looked old (a fixed head coming out of the wall) but it was fabulous. Lovely hot water and a decent pressure. Nice towels, and the pool towels were nice quality too. Difficult to tell what it would be like normally, but this place served it's purpose for us very well. The reception staff were very nice and helped as much as they could in the circumstances.
