Hotel Saint Georges

Stayed here for 2 nights before travelling to our final destination in Burgundy. We arrived for check in at 4.00pm and were able to park temporarily to unload the car. There was on site parking but very limited and very tight to get in and out of. The very helpful receptionist who spoke good English directed me to a huge public car park about 5 minutes walk away where I was able to park for 2 days at a cost of around 10 Euros. The apartment on the ground floor was spacious and well appointed. Although the kitchen was rather limited for a longer stay. The shower room/wet room was large but needed a screen to prevent the shower water from reaching sink and toilet area. However, it was a very good shower. We had our own courtyard outside with table and chairs and we could also use the main courtyard outside reception. Some negative points, window in bedroom was cracked, and both lots of curtains needed re fitting and they needed to be thicker to block out the outside lights. A big advantage is that it is situated in the old town within easy walking distance of points of interest and dozens of places to eat. We chose to have the picnic hamper breakfast which was not really as described on the website and because it was delivered the night before the bread was not particulary fresh. There were no croissants or pastries and we had to buy milk from a nearby shop.

We had an amazing stay in this lovely hotel. So quirky and full of character. Beds - amazing, best sleep ever. Walkable everywhere in Troyes old town, plenty of restaurants and cafes on your door step, grocery shop 5 min walk away. Lovely owners and housekeeping girls. Will definitely stay again as we are in this area often visiting my husband’s family. Definitely recommend!
