Ibis Troyes Centre

Stayed in an ibis hotel a few times and very recognizable by the style. Solid, everything is there that needs to be there, clean, nothing special but nothing to complain about. Breakfast also good. Troyes itself, nothing special but cozy, many restaurants.

We chose this modern hotel for its proximity to the center of the old town of Troyes (10 minutes walk) for two nights spent two days apart. The rooms are well appointed. However, the plastic shower cabin system in the bathroom is not worthy of a 3-star hotel. In addition, this shower cabin makes a resonance box when the shower is running and the resulting noise can disturb the neighbors. The breakfast is very good. In terms of cleanliness of the hotel (outside the rooms), I had to make two successive requests to the reception staff. We noticed a lack of vacuuming in the staircase, on the landing (3rd floor) and drippings of hydroalcoholic gel on the wall of the elevator cabin. I had to insist that the cleaning be done without delay. France has a reputation (perhaps often exaggerated) as a dirty country with dirty people. In addition, this hotel has a European clientele who like cleanliness (Dutch, Belgian, German, Swiss, etc.) and the staff often tried to justify the presence of dirt... Too bad and there is not enough of them on the ground to move around, to check that everything is fine.
