Rooms were great, staff was friendly, great location. We were forced to stay here for a "stay to play" hockey tournament. If we did not stay here we our team (and all of the other teams in the tournament) would not be able to play in the tournament. So lots of small children...and lots of early (7:00am) game times. Those game times require leaving the hotel by 5:30 am in order to get to the ice rinks 30-40 minutes away. There was a party of some sorts booked in the courtyard, with a very loud DJ, that played party music until after10:00pm. I am not sure who made the decision to book both groups at the same time but the open courtyard style of building is not accommodating to have a party in the courtyard and sleeping families with this going on just outside the rooms.

Everything was excellent, except the poor bathroom lighting＞ I had to use my flashlight on my cell phone to do my hair and makeup which made for a very sticky situation.

To my fellow Hilton Honors members, this complex does not comp upgrades. It is a hard and fast rule. I have RARE Lifetime Diamond Status and we are starting our 9th multi-night stay since last April (the location logistically works well). Yet no success the times I asked about an upgrade. I even emailed the GM directly on this stay and all she offered was for me to pay a $150 night upgrade (on top of the the points used) for a room that normally costs $38 more over the one we received. In the meantime, I have recently made reservations at Marco Island FL, Rockwall TX and Omaha. ALL appreciated my loyalty and status and upgraded my room as soon as I contacted them after making the initial reservation. Back to Embassy Suites at Troy, I travel a lot and want to state the food/beverage staff there is excellent.

The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The separate lounging area was perfect for my son to have his own bed. Breakfast was great. Complimentary cocktails were a bonus at happy hour.
