A little beat up but cheap

It wasn't the cleanest, and it said it had been newly renovated, we couldn't tell... we won't stay again.

Everything ok

Well I checked in Wednesday and it’s now Monday evening. I’ve had zero room service since check in. No hot water in the hotel for over 24 hours. A father and baby drowned in the pool with my 6 yr old here. The pool had no towels. I consistently have to ask for towels. No toilet paper. I complained to the assistant manager Cory and when I explained all this… his response was well for the people drowning I’m not giving you any discounts, for no room service I’m also not giving you a discount. As for the no hot water I will give you $20 off. After I corrected him and said it was out 24 hours he then gave me a whole $40 off a week stay. I’ve never in my life experienced any of these problems at any hotel and I’ve definitely never received a $40 discount. It would be multiple night discount in majority of cases. I think every person in the hotel at minimum should’ve received one free night on the hot water problem alone. The hotel was too cheap to call a plumber here on a Sunday because they would have to pay emergency pay. I’m a contractor and know the field.

This was definitely not my best experience at Wingate: 1. Lobby and rooms were clean, but the hallways carpets were really dirty (need a shampoo). 2. Continental breakfast was "poor" (very limited, no eggs, no ham). 3. A very loud family stayed next to my room making noises passed 2:00am. 4. We requested cleaning service, but had to comeback the following day because they forgot. 5. They didn't provide toilet paper, so we had to go ask for it at the front desk. 6. The staff was mostly cordial, but some were not too friendly.
