Two weeks all inclusive stay at this hotel. Check in a bit messy as the room wasn’t ready despite having paid for the previous day, to ensure we could freshen up as soon as we arrived early the following morning. Soon resolved however, and worth the wait being shown to room 237. The balcony was well equipped with two sunbeds, a table and chairs overlooking the beautiful gardens, with sun throughout the day. The small bedroom was overwhelmed somewhat with a 4 poster bed, but a lovely feature was the thatched roof. The dressing table was also a little large for the space available. The bathroom was dated, but served its purpose. Air conditioning was free and worked well, and a good size safe was available free of charge, albeit this was not fixed to anything. Sockets were a mixture of both European round two pin and UK square three pin types. Courtesy bath robes and slippers were provided, and house keeping was daily, with clean towels and the fridge being stocked up with water and soft drinks. Tea and coffee making facilities were also present in the room along with a television. There were two decent size pools, one being a quiet one, plus a children’s pool, with ample sunbeds throughout the day at either one. Clean pool towels could be exchanged twice a day at reception, free of charge. The pool bar was open 11am to 11pm daily, with an excellent choice of soft, hot and alcoholic drinks. We never had to queue, and was well looked after by all the staff, including Akshay who soon learnt our favourite beverages. Afternoon snacks were popular at the bar area between 3:30 pm and 4:30pm. The beach was a two minute walk across a main road, but a crossing was located immediately outside the hotel which was very useful. Ample sunbeds were again seen throughout the day, and the beach itself was uncrowded, with a designated safe swimming area, but there was no lifeguard on duty as expected. Beach shoes are strongly recommended as sharp coral and rocks are present soon after entering the water. Kayaks and pedalos were free to use nearby, and a free soft drinks station was also located by the entrance. We also made use of a free half hour trip on a glass bottom boat out towards the lagoon. There is an opportunity to snorkel for a few minutes. Vijay will find you soon enough after you first arrive, and offer you a range of trips. We booked a speedboat tour that took us to the stunning Ile aux Cerfs island, then on to the Beau Champ Waterfall, followed by lunch on Ile aux Mangenie island, with transfers to and from the hotel included for the reasonable price of just £50 each, and we were not disappointed. Back in the hotel, the restaurant had plenty of selection at breakfast (continental and cooked,) lunch and dinner, including themed nights. Lots of curries, meats, fish, rice, salads and show cooking was common. Vegetarian options were available at each sitting. Wine, beer hot and cold drinks were on a self service basis, at the appropriate meal times. There
