Mercure Hotel Trier Porta Nigra

There was nothing particularly bad about it.

The hotel is right opposite the Kuromon Gate and within walking distance to most attractions. There are not too many tourists and it is very comfortable to walk around. Tickets for attractions are not expensive, and you can see many relics from the Roman Empire. When we visited Max's former residence, we all liked the interesting pictures and text presentation on the walls. It rained on the day we left, so I asked the hotel receptionist to call a taxi to the train station, and the taxi came quickly. We were deeply impressed by this ancient city.

We really liked it, despite the fact that the equipment and furniture look a little old. It even has its own charm. The room is very spacious. The room includes a kettle, bath and hairdryer. From the window there is a wonderful view of Porta Nigra. Excellent location (city center, near the train station). Multilingual, and, most importantly, very friendly and hospitable staff. Varied and plentiful breakfast.

The location is right opposite the Black Gate and very close to entering the ancient city. It is a 7-minute walk from the train station, but it is a straight road and easy to find. There is a hotel and a restaurant downstairs in the hotel. The rooms are large and even have sofas.
