Romantik Hotel Zur Glocke

We were very happy at this hotel. Our room was absolutely delightful and charming. It was comfortable and private with plenty of room. Our only issue was the internet would not work in our room or at certain areas of the hotel. If you need good internet coverage you might want to double check they have this issue solved. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel!

Our hands down favorite hotel in Germany. They stored our luggage and took it to our room. (We had to take the stairs to our room but I think there is an elevator if needed). They greeted us with Champagne and gave us a gift of homemade marmalade on departure. Both receptionists spoke English. They already had the air-conditioning on for us which was nice but we think it stopped working in the middle of the night (set on 20C), which was okay because the evening was cool enough to open the windows. They also had fresh fruit and chocolates waiting for us in our room. There is a safe in the room. The towels were nice and fluffy. They provide soap, shampoo, and body lotion. The shower was AMAZING. There was enough space in the bathroom to put out my toiletries and makeup so getting ready was easier than in other hotels. The hotel is conveniently located by nice restaurants and walking distance to shopping and sites to see. The hotel was a short walk from where we initially parked our car but we returned our car after checking in so we didn't have to pay to park overnight at another lot where it was cheaper. We had forgotten about eating in the cool restaurant in the cellar but the weather was nice so we enjoyed eating outside. There were plenty of outlets. They had a shoehorn, an umbrella, soft warm bathrobes and extra blankets in the room. If I am ever back in Trier, we will stay there again.

A charming family hotel. Lovely staff in reception. Right in the middle of town and I had a room overlooking the street but all was quiet after 11pm. Very comfortable bed and excellent pillow, The breakfast was one of the best buffet breakfasts ever. I had one meal from their restaurant at a table outside in the sunshine - excellent food and a wonderful start to my stay in Trier.

We had a 2 night stay at this lovely boutique hotel in Trier. Excellent location in the heart of Trier with the sights and restaurants/bars all within easy walking distance. Parking was in a public car park just a short walk from the hotel. Superb bedroom with a very comfortable bed, good pillows, fluffy towels, bathrobes and a wide range of toiletries. A bowl of fruit, some chocolates and bottled water awaited us in our room on arrival. We were on the second floor in a room with a bay window overlooking the street. This was one of the best hotel bedrooms we have ever stayed in and we are seasoned travellers! Breakfast buffet was excellent with a good variety of fresh fruit and continental style offering. Eggs, in any form, were cooked to order. All washed down with fresh juice or Alsace fizz and plenty of coffee/tea. We had dinner in the cellar restaurant one night. Superb food and excellent service by the waiting staff. All of the staff were very professional, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. If we return to Trier we would certainly stay here again. Highly recommended

We had a lovely one night stay. We were fortunate to snag a parking space within a block of the hotel so didn't have to drag our bags too far on the cobble stones. We made a reservation for dinner at the hotel when we checked in. The front desk isn't staffed all the time and when we arrived for dinner our reservation had been mistakenly given away. It took a while to find someone from the waitstaff that could help with the mistake but they made it right in the end.

After looking at the pictures and reviews of this hotel, I felt confident about my stay in Trier. This was my first experience of a Romantik Hotel, although I've always wanted to try one. We arrived late, around 8pm, and entered the hotel and find that there was no lobby, just a counter which was also the cashier for the restaurant. Checking in was quite straightforward, they didn't even ask for ID or passports. We booked a junior suite, which was very clean and had a spacious bathroom. However, there is no kettle or coffee maker in the room, let alone a mini bar. I found that the firm pillows I had specifically requested when I booked had not been prepared in advance, so I asked a member of staff if they could provide them. He replied that he would remind his colleague. By the time we checked out the next day, there had been no reply and, of course, no pillow I had asked for.
