Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Wheeling at the Highlands

My group of six ladies has been staying at this Hawthorn Suites Hotel twice a year since 2017. Each visit just gets better. From the personal care we get when we call to make the reservation, right up until we check out after our two-night stay, we are treated better than royalty. We are treated like family. The lobby becomes our Great Room and we are AT HOME, or so it feels. At the Front Desk we are made to feel like they have missed us and can't wait to catch up on our latest news. Robyn and Brent have made it certain that we won't be having our semi-annual get-togethers anywhere else. They always go the extra mile for my friends and me. From the treats they have for us on the buffet, all the way up to the extra towels and soaps, the Hawthorn has made us loyal repeat customers. One last note, the hotel rooms, lobby, patio and workout room are always clean and tidy. Keep up the good work!

Pros: Close to quick eats. Friendly staff. Free breakfast. Lots of breakfast options. Comfy beds & pillows. Mini kitchen for extended stay option. Spacious rooms. Easy & quick check in/checkout. Quality accommodations. Cons; Bathroom door is a sliding door. It doesn't fully close on either side if the door. Plugs are not easy to access for charging. Breakfast Quality is nothing to write home about. It's FREE & it's clear why. I would definitely stay again!

Terrible customer service. Booked queen suite with 2 queen and a sofa bed for my family. Bathroom door was broken. Asked for the other room, receptionist was reluctant to help, asked for a manager's contact but refused to give saying manager out of town. They downgraded and gave 2 queens without sofa which was not sufficient, one of the family members had to sleep on the floor on blanket.

I had stopped over on a long drive during a bad rain storm and was a bit frazzled when I arrived. The front desk evening shift person was so warm and welcoming and even helped me find parking when the lot was full. It made a big difference to have someone friendly. When I got to the room, it was large and the bed was very comfortable and had a kitchenette. It was a great stay and I highly recommend it.

Good and clean. Close to lots of food options.

Our experience was great. The only thing that was not great were the eggs, they were inedible. They were cooked too long and they were too hard.
