My husband and I rented a condo at Sunset Chateau in Treasure Island. Although the building was cleaned nicely by the porter, there were too many serious negatives about this building that made us leave early and find another hotel. 1: There are two elevators in the building. One was not working at all and for a time had a sign that read "Not in service until further notice". Elevator number 1 had an inspection sticker that had an expiration date of 8/1/2022 - a full year past inspection. The floor indicator light inside the elevator was not working so you never knew where you were. Sometime the elevator would work, and sometimes not. Sometimes you would choose a floor, the doors would close, you would feel a slight nudge, and minutes later the door would open on the same floor. Twice I followed long lines of residents climbing five flights of stairs in over 100 degree heat because no elevators were working. This issue alone is unacceptable. We learned from a permanent resident that the elevators are not fixed because owners don't want another assessment - so they pay a monthly fine to continue to run dangerous elevators - but that is hearsay. 2: Parking is under the building and that is nice - but we never could understand why the end of the building was being supported by steel supports - photo attached. I felt uneasy every time I entered the building. 3: The pool...I have never been to a pool at a condo, house, or hotel that did not have lounge chairs around the pool. Had to drag my beach chair back and forth from pool to beach. But thats not the main issue here: The only ladder for the deep end of the pool was broken. It had caution tape wrapped around it until another inconsiderate tenant took it off to continue to use it. If a complex continues to rent under these circumstances, does it mean there are no reserves to operate responsibly?? Does that mean the management team is dropping the ball here??
