Bayshore Resort

Very dated hotel, our first room smelt like mold/mildew so we requested to change rooms. Next room on a different floor and opposite side of the hotel smelt the same. Had allergies the entire 2-night stay. We wish we had booked refundable so we could leave. Go down the street or more into town to get value for your money. We will be back to traverse city, but not at this hotel!!!! View is pretty, but you can walk to the beach for free, no need to stay here and pay for to be on the beach. Staff was uninterested in the guests, very little contact and engagement from them.

The staff was informative. The breakfast was excellent. The room faced the sand and water and was amazing. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are large as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel - older but very clean. Good location. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was OK. Wish bed mattress and beach chairs were more comfortable. Shuttle service to downtown was a plus.

We have stayed at this resort for over 20 years at all times of the year. This time, we were beyond disappointed. My young adult daughter made reservations several months ago. She was never told that they scalp you and take advantage of you during the cherry festival and hike their rates way up. When she went to check in, she was shocked to find that they were going to charge her well over 1,000 dollars for three nights. When she told them she didn’t expect to pay that price and couldn’t afford the three nights, they charged her over 400.00 to “cancel” which was the full price of a room but would not allow her to stay for the night she paid for! This is unreal! They are taking advantage of people and are unwilling to work with you at all! When I called to complain about this, the manager Jonathan, put me on hold and never came back to the phone! It eventually went to his VM and I was never called back! Talk about HORRIBLE customer service!! I would highly recommend you NEVER stay there! There are many other great places to stay in the area that don’t treat loyal customers this way. As I stated, we have stayed at this hotel for YEARS in every season. We will be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

We stayed for three nights at the end of May before the crowds and prices sky rocket. A big thank you to the gal who checked us in and worked out an issue with our room. We had a very nice lakeside room with a spacious balcony. One word of caution the rooms facing east especially the lower levels look at a crummy empty lot. The third floor may be somewhat better. They do warn you that the view of the lake is partial and perhaps better than looking at the parking lot but... The room itself was nice with a larger refrigerator and an extra sink outside the bathroom which is handy. There is a large indoor pool which we didn't use but it looked inviting. The location is close enough to downtown and all of the shops and restaurants that you can walk - under a mile each way. They also have a shuttle bus that on request will take you into town which we used one night when we decided we would only walk back. The only minor ding is their free breakfast was weak compared to most chain hotels. The hot entrees never varied over the three mornings. Overall for the rate this was a great experience.
