Just arrived at the pub a table became free and I sat next to my friends in the pub area and television area room when a very rude and ignorant person said I need this table at 6:15 and a waitress and other person commenced setting the table with cutlery and napkins no reservation notice was on the table I was sat at. No customer service skills whatsoever any training non existent I do not recommend the Red Lion at all

I went today for lunch with two other members my family. We all had the Cosy Lunch which was excellent value for money and a lovely meal. However the meal was spoiled for me when I came to go to the toilet and found there was no disabled facilities. I asked a member of staff and was told the cubicle in the gents was disabled as it had a handle on the wall. I'm afraid this doesn't make it suitable as a disabled toilet consequently I had to leave earlier than intentioned, and despite the quality of the food I wont be able to return if this situation is not improved

We have just stayed here and our visit exceeded expectations considering the cost. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed. The service was excellent with people being very friendly. Definitely stay again if we are out Bury way.

Can’t fault it - perfectly clean room with everything we needed, lovely staff and a great breakfast in the morning. Everyone was super helpful and easy to talk to, proving that people might actually be friendlier up north for my first trip there!

Family room was beautiful with everything that we needed! Breakfast superb. Dog friendly which was a must. Bar downstairs spacious with a range of real ales. We are in the bar on the night and the food was nice - a little pricey for pub food. My husband and I had the fish and chips which were a good size. My son had the burger which he loved and my daughter had soup which was lovely. Doggy treats and water were available at all times. Only down side was my husband and I were up ill all night after eating - we could only put it down to the fish. Fed this back and checkout and staff were understanding, breakfast was beautiful! Not much to do on foot around - nearest pub was closed on a Tuesday so we had little choice for eating on the evening. Would recommend for a family break,

Lovely little pub. Everything was great except the bed unfortunately which is in need of a replacement mattress - far too soft.
Upgrade the mattresses and this would easily be 9 or 10 out of 10
Food and drink were both excellent.

What an amazing hotel. Everything was just perfect. From the beautiful food to the friendly staff. Nothing could have made our stay any better. Every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I especially want to say a Thank you to the bar tender who was working on Friday night ( sorry I didn't catch his name). But what a breath of fresh air he was. Before we had even sat down he asked what we would like to drink. Offered us alternatives and really made us feel welcomed into the bar. It was a pleasure to s
see someone who really enjoyed his job. I couldn't recommend The Red Lion Enough. Thank you. You will see us again Soon :)
