The Bay Colwell

I stayed here for a long weekend with friends. The cottage felt clean and the beds were comfortable. It’s a 5 minute or less walk to the beach which was super useful. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed and the hot tub was very clean. This place is perfect for a trip away with friends/family!

Stayed at The Bay Colwell booked direct through Away Resorts as we have used them before and was more than happy with our accommodation and service but unfortunately this time round we are very disappointed! The accommodation is not quite as it states, we booked a cottage with hot tub (cottage 42) and on walking up into the accommodation I was pleasantly surprised until I started looking around and finding little faults with mainly cleanliness. The cottage itself is modern and has most basic equipment needed when staying for a short break. Negatives were there were limited kitchen utensils, pots and pans so make sure if you intend on cooking you bring extra, and maybe some cleaning products as you will need them if you are alittle fussy when it comes down to cleanliness. The sofas were disgusting filthy and when you sit on them you sink so low you may as well be sitting on the floor and I recommend they are replaced! The floor was grubby and lots of fluff and hair throughout and the double bed was terrible it was like trying to sleep on aload of springs that had broke and the bed was ready to collapse at any time if you move to much. This accommodation is a fair distance from any well known eateries/shops and you do feel limited on what to eat when it comes to dining out if you prefer, the WiFi is also non existent even though it states there is WiFi this is FALSE! I could go on with more negatives but the list would be endless. The positives is very few being modern accommodation, hot tub very clean and entertainment saviour, the bay has some beautiful views that’s really it I would not recommend this resort if you want to be close to or in the heart of any form of liveliness or want a doing holiday with everything close by lastly the BIG one is CLEANLINESS biggest NEGATIVE! Drastic action needs to be taken with regards to this. Overpriced for service provided

It was OK. The cleanliness could be improved. The sofa was covered in pet hair and the floors were filthy.

IOW wedding 2025 Came to the island for a wedding with 2 other friends. The location was perfect and the hot tub was a great addition. Would definitely recommend and 100% would stay here again in the future!

Although the resort was clean and had excellent activities for children. Gate was missing from patio area of the lodge leading out onto the road, with hard gavel standings on the lodge outside area so not suitable for young children.
