Long Bay Beach Resort

Just had 4 terrific days at LBBR. The setting is breath-taking. First-rate amenities - the spa and gym are lovely. We had an ocean view room, amazing beach-facing shower! All of the public spaces to hang out and have a drink or eat were terrific. We ate at the restaurant every night (we were early in season so limited options elsewhere) and had very good meals. Wine selection is terrific. All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Our best afternoon was spent nearby (free transportation from resort) at Smuggler's Cove, secluded with two fantastic beach bars. Only drawback is the need for a car. Resort will arrange taxis, but they tend to be expensive.

Shared the beach side 2 bdrm villa with friends. Accomadations were beautiful with high end finishes and service was amazing. Thanks Akil…. Food was great. Lots of beachside activities available: kayaking, paddles boards, snorkeling. Tennis courts, pickle courts and gym were great and easy to access. We used them all. Spa looked nice but we did not use it. Pool area and pool bar were very nice with great staff to make your day memorable.

We had the pleasure of staying at Long Bay for a week at the end of June. We had a wonderful time. We stayed in an ocean front suite that was lovely. The only downside was the difficult locks to the patio that we could never figure out. The staff is friendly and responsive to any requests. The restaurant is great, however, the menu is the same for the entire stay. We did venture out to Sugar Mill one evening (we stayed there last time) and the restaurant is fabulous. We took the ferry to JVD twice and the ferry to Norman Island twice. It is very easy to do and we preferred the beaches there than the on property beach and Smugglers Cove. We loved coming back to our beautiful room at Long Bay after! We spent several afternoons at the pool and loved Susan behind the bar!!! Bring inter tubes for the pool and beach days. It was so much fun floating the days away. The gym is great with everything we needed and nobody was ever in it! I really wanted to give five stars, but there were several areas for improvement. When you booked a taxi the day before you wanted it, you showed up that day and nobody had a clue you had reserved one. Double check taxi reservations and times. Also the bartender at the restaurant bar spent more time on his phone than connecting with guests. A shame as there is so much potential for this bar to be great. The view and location is spectacular. Also - which is not the hotel's fault - the rooster situation kept me from sleeping the entire week. My husband was not bothered by it, unfortunately, they drove me crazy waking me up at all early hours. Bring ear plugs. You won't regret it. We usually don't stay at the same hotel twice, but I would definitely consider staying at Long Bay again when in Tortola. The BVIs are a special place and Long Bay is a great addition! Many thanks to the employees that made this a relaxing and fun vacation!

Unbelievable experience, the long bay staff is always willing to help you with any need you may have and they go above and beyond on anything they do. Very pleased with my experience and highly recommend to anyone looking to visit the BVI. Lalit and Miguel are always on top of everything! Great place!

I stayed for two nights prior to joining friends for a week long sailing trip around BVI. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, the staff at the Long Bay Beach Resort went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and that my needs were met. Lalit ensured several days up to my arrival and throughout my stay that I had everything I needed, including a taxi pick up at the airport. Upon my arrival, I was welcomed by Ana and Akil, both of which were very kind and welcoming. I was immediately offered a rum punch and water as well as a complimentary 5 min massage prior to being escorted to my suite. My suite was exquisite! I highly recommend the “ocean view suite”. The building is right on the sand so every morning I woke up to a gorgeous ocean view! Because I was there in the off-season there were very few other people at the resort other than the staff. It felt like my own private island. The designer of this resort deserves an award, as every single detail - from the way the toilet paper is hung, to the shower design, to the landscape around the resort - is well thought out, gorgeous, and environmentally friendly to boot! My suite and the grounds were pristine! It is the tropics so there will be flying insects, geckos, frogs and birds, which I love, but others might not. However, inside my suite I never had to worry about pests (roaches, beetles, mosquitoes, flies, rats, mice, etc.). There are no screens so if you keep the doors open, you may have a different experience. There were a few teeny ants throughout the room, but nothing else. I do recommend bug spray while you’re at the restaurant, that is the only time I got bitten and I was attacked at each meal, but they do tend to love me more than most people. The staff are incredible at the restaurant and continuously provide spray, they even sprayed my legs for me! I also want to thank Rosie and Alcia, for going above and beyond each time I ate at the restaurant. They truly made my dining experience enjoyable! On my last full day there I splurged on the 3 hour Retreat Package at the spa, which was only 2.5 hrs, but such a wonderful and relaxing experience I didn’t complain. Odilia, the spa hostess, was lovely! The beaches are clean, the grounds are gorgeous, and the people are lovely. Long Bay Beach resort is certainly a five star in my book; if I could give it six stars I would! I not only got exactly whet I paid for but I felt like a royal princess my entire stay! I stayed here with my son in July 2024 after looking at this hotel online for more than a year. I’m Ambassador with Marriott and Globalist with Hyatt and was excited when this property joined Hyatt via the Mr and Mrs Smith tie-up. I booked a non refundable Hillside ‘suite’ on the Hyatt website and watched the website for months, knowing their occupancy was low in July, hoping for an upgrade. When we arrived after 20 hours of overnight travel from CA, we are told there is another $300 in taxes and service fees on top of my prepaid rate- annoying, but fine, we are in paradise. I then asked the checkin desk for an upgrade- twice- but after 20 minutes we found ourselves being given keys for a hillside room (what we. Booked). I confirmed, ‘oh, so no upgrades available?’ And she finally said, ‘let me see if one is available.’ Another 20 minutes go by standing in the outdoor heat as workers go look at rooms, and she says that a 1st floor ocean view is available, but it’s $200 more a night. I pull out my phone and show her the published rate of $100 more a night for that particular room- she says ‘prices are different on the property’. I politely decline the ‘upgrade’, but at this point I’m pretty annoyed, because that’s not what I asked for and it’s just dumb and bad service to make me stand in the heat for 45 minutes for that. We are driven up the hill to the room, and just as we are putting on our bathing suits to finally hit the pool, a knock comes on the door to tell us that the manager has kindly agreed to let us have the ocean view room for the published rate after all. Fine I say, and we pay the extra money for a room that is not across the street and up a very steep hill. The new room is fine, it’s nice, but for almost $700/night all-in the value for money just is not there. The pool is new and big, but across the street from the beach. The food is really expensive- $35 for a burger for example- and I just can’t get over the check in experience. Get a VRBO, there are some lovely ones for less than half the price.

From the moment we arrived at LB, we were treated with such kindness and hospitality. They knew it was our 30th anniversary and went out of their way at all turns. The room was gorgeous with all the amenities you would hope to have. Restaurant and bar are top notch. Pool is beautiful. Beach is very nice. Best water access (no rocks) to enter the water is the far right when looking out. Thank you to everyone at Long Bay. Lalit, Miguel, Tamasha and many more. Can’t wait to return.

We were pleasantly surprised by Long beach hotel! Modern hotel with great location and amazing views! Situated on a pristine beach with powder white sand. It has everything necessary for the perfect family holiday. Two of the best beaches on Tortola are just minute's away. You have the brand new pool with the kids zone, and the tennis courts and Spa center. One of the best restaurants on the island is also 5 min away. The service is great from house keeping to service at the restaurant and the beach bar. We will definitely return and recommend it to our friends!

My husband and I just got back from 9 days at Long Bay and we had the absolute best stay! Our beach front room was gorgeous, and had everything we needed. The best part of the stay (aside from the gorgeous property) was the staff. Everyone was friendly and went above & beyond to make our experience wonderful. Lalit helped us plan a ton of stuff before we even got to the resort including a beautiful anniversary dinner, which was awesome! Akil greeted us everyday and made us feel like family! He helped us every time we had a question. Stephan was so friendly and gave us great recommendations of things to see and do while we were there. He also made our whole trip so amazing from helping with our anniversary dinner, to making us awesome cocktails at the bar! Clevon at the pool bar was great! All the ladies at the restaurant and cafe were so friendly too! We highly recommend staying at Long Bay and we hope to be back in the near future!
