A fabulous place to stay and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room we stayed in was lovely with fantastic views. We ate in the 1887 restaurant and both the food and service was excellent. It was also really nice walking around the grounds and having a swim in the Loch.

We stayed in The Torridon on the weekend of our wedding and it was an absolute dream! We booked a deluxe room and asked permission to have photographs on the grounds, but what we did not anticipate, was the most warm welcome from Raoul. He surprised us with the news that we had been given a complimentary upgrade to the 1887 suite! The suite was immaculate and had absolutely everything you could think of! Chocolates, fresh fruit, coffee machine, Dyson hairdryer, and even a yoga mat, Our dining experience in 1887 restaurant was a beautiful ending to our wedding night, shout out to Thomas/Tom, Ulrich, Moustache and every single member of the front of house team (we couldn’t remember all the names). They all provided immaculate service while being very personable and attentive with all guests. The grounds and gardens were beautiful and we met the lovely lady who tends to the gardens. On check out we were given complimentary chilled water for our journey home. I’ve never had a stay like this and dream of returning one day. Thank you so much.

Our stay was very good. The room was pleasant & well equipped. Dinner at the Bo & Mac tasted lovely. Only let down here was using toilet paper to dry my hands in the ladies! The Tasting Menu in the 1887 restaurant was outstanding. And something the whole family not just adults could enjoy. Throughout our short stay the staff were exemplary. Very attentive, great knowledge of the food, drink & local area. A must for whisky fans. And the kitchen garden should be seen.

A very quiet, beautiful setting for this early 19th century hotel. The name alone set my wife and I wondering what it meant, 'The Torridon', ....spooky as it turns out. How exciting and we hadn't even arrived yet! What a splendid 2 day stay was had with us wanting to book for next year straight away. The staff were very well trained in customer service, and while you pay a little extra, the experience justifies it. Awesome food!

Some aspects were disappointing given the apparent quality, cost and historic awards. The grounds are stunning, the room we had (No. 2) fantastic, the hotel ground walks were excellent and well marked. We had to walk to the Bo & Muc Brasserie which is a hundred yards or so down the lane. It was of no more than a below average pub quality - some of the food served was cold - why they cant open the hotel restaurant is a mystery - I have never stayed at a four star+ hotel where I have to take a walk down the road for dinner in a pub. Breakfast was a surprise - we asked for but could not get any white, brown or granary toast, all that was on offer was sourdough (a first for me).

Our expections were naturally high when staying at this kind of quality hotel . Unfortunately most were poorly met. How could a hotel of this quality run out of draught lager, prosecco, Sauvignon blanc, burger baps, broccoli, fruit for Pimm’s? How is this possible? Supply chain management has to be very poor, we advise those staying to take their own supplies . The weather was appalling, (not their fault obv) incessant rain and there was little to do apart from brave the wet narrow roads or read ones own books as there were none to borrow . There were wellies and a few macs available to borrow and we guess the scenery was lovely if it hadn’t been raining. We were a group of eight and left disappointed. On departure comments on our thoughts were made privately to the receptionist who dutifully wrote a few sentences down and that was that.

The Torridon is an amazing place, we were lucky to stay a week in The Boathouse and cannot fault it as just fabulous. The views, walking trails Munro walks were easily accessible and are a must. Views of the Loch were just mesmerising!! The restaurant looked after by Oliver and his new assistant Ankit was great and food by the chefs was outstanding!! Shane looked after us pre and post dinner with a recommended drinks selection and the bar atmosphere cannot be faulted.

A big birthday treat - a couple of days at The Torridon. Stunning drive to it, arrived late afternoon to a warm welcome, a show around the public rooms and to our room, large and comfortable with loch views. Dinner in the 1887 restaurant was out standing, one of the best tasting menus and wine pairings that we've had. Great walks from the hotel and Torridon Outdoors provided an amazing sea kayaking trip and clay shooting. We left well looked after, refreshed and relaxed. It's not cheap - but it is worth it.
