Perfect spot for exploring Capitol Reef
We loved our stay at Red Sands Hotel! The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable — great to come back to after a day of hiking in Capitol Reef.
The location is super convenient, just minutes from the park entrance. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and the hotel has a really calm, relaxing vibe.
Bonus points for the rooftop deck and the cozy lobby — perfect for chilling out in the evening. Would absolutely stay here again!

Kelly is the hero we all need in our lives! My family arrived at 1030pm after trying (and failing) to get our toddler to sleep in the tent in our campground. In the middle of a blackout, no lights anywhere, no electronics to check us in, Kelly was at the front desk willing to find us a room and take bare minimum info needed to get us until morning. She then also offered to help get us settled in any way she could. The room itself is clean and comfortable, the king bed is large, and we are grateful. When we come back this way, we will be sure to stay here again!

We had a very nice day here. We booked a cathedral room, which had a lovely view overlooking the pastures with the red cliffs in the distance. Every staff member that we came into contact with was extremely friendly and professional. They were nice touches in the room like the remote being in a sanitized bag and then the cute little ice bucket. Also thought the bathrooms were cute. We were able to enjoy the pool area and found it nice, especially the view out the back and then the nice sitting deck area. The spa looked inviting, but we did not have time to do that. I will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area. It’s between the town and capital reef, but close to both.

Das Hotel ist traumhaft gelegen, kurz vor dem Eingang des Capitol Reef National Park. Die Hotelzimmer sind groß, geräumig und sehr sauber Bei unseren Zimmer hat leider die Dusche nicht korrekt funktioniert und der TV hatte keinen Empfang. Das Hotel hat zudem noch ein Restaurant, Spa, Fitness Center und Pool.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The patio in the morning was lovely and peaceful. The location is excellent—close to town and close to the park. The food and service at the restaurant were outstanding. And I simply cannot say enough about the massage I had. Esther was my massage therapist and it was hands-down the best massage I have ever had. She zeroed in on some painful knots in my upper back and shoulders with surgical precision and eliminated pain and tightness I’ve had for years! She has some seriously strong hands. The service and amenities at the spa were unexpected for a small town and just incredible. I loved the steam room after my massage. Please treat yourself during your stay—so worth it!
