AluaSun Costa Park

Just landed back home yesterday and thought we had to share our thoughts on this hotel. It's been an amazing week and if you have any doubts about going, I hope this will put your mind at ease. ROOM We had a junior suite, which was a very spacious room for the four of us. It was very much true to the photos we saw beforehand, which suited us just fine. Whilst you could argue that the decor wasn't "up-to-date", I don't think that matters too much as we didn't spend much time in there other than to sleep. The balcony was a nice size and came with a little airing rack to hang towels on during the day. Our room overlooked the front of the building, so no poolside view but again, not an issue for us. Beds were super comfy and very welcoming during the hottest hours of the day for a quick rest and at the end of the evening's entertainment. Rooms were cleaned to a good standard each morning, generally quite early and the housekeeping team were very friendly whenever we passed by them in the halls (a theme that is consistent with the rest of the staff also). One thing we found was room cards were susceptible to being damaged when kept near phones, however reception were happy to reset these for us on the odd occasion we forgot to keep them separate from our personal devices. FOOD The main restaurant gave a variety of meals and desserts each day, rarely did we see the same thing presented twice. Good selection for the children also with plain pastas and sauces on offer for those with more selective tastes. Snack bar opened slightly after breakfast service finished (11:00) and also gave a nice selection of food, just not as large as offered in the main restaurant. Unlike other places we've been to, found that the food served here was also fresh and not just leftovers from previous food services being re-served which was nice to see. We sometimes opted to eat here instead of heading to the main restaurant for lunch. Soft drinks are self-serve thoughout both the restaurant and snack bar, which came in useful for when the kids wanted to refill their drinks. No need to be queueing up for several minutes just for a lemonade. POOLS/PARKS The pools opened up at 10:00, with various sizes and depths for all. The splash park was a lot of fun for the kids, they thoroughly enjoyed that and spent plenty of time on the mini water slides. There is a park for children a bit lower in the grounds. My only gripe with this from a health and safety view - there isn't a clear, safe path to it, it's downhill and there are a few trip hazards along the way to get there. However, the park itself is nice, kept in good order with a slide, swings and a rocker to be enjoyed by the younger children. Arcade on the lower floor is nice for spending some downtime. Found an air hockey table tucked away by the Bar Luna, which we got a few uses out of. ENTERTAINMENT Oh wow, where to begin. The entertainment team are always on the go, super friendly, approachable, and made the holiday great

A beautiful hotel. Staff are very friendly and there are lots of facilities and is in a good location. The rooms are spotless and are cleaned every day. There are a few pool areas for lounging and swimming and there is plenty of food choices. The beach is about 20 mins walk but the hotel put on a regular free shuttle bus to take you there. The local beach has lots of shops and public bus and train services are very cheap. The area is surrounded by great beaches along the coast. The hotel is very conveniently close to Malaga Airport.

Hotel lift are not working, got stuck 3 times in 6 days. Food sane every day, not much too choose from, fruits were rotten. You jad to buy tokens to get cups for drinks, as well pay for towels. Entertainment was so load you couldn't sleep and it was till late night. One of the worst hotels I been yet.

We had a fabulous five day stay here and will definitely be back! The value for money was brilliant! Food was good, pools were great, Rooms were large and comfortable, Staff were friendly, drinks were plentiful....what more do you want? We particularly liked the option of late breakfast which ran 11am til 12.30 and that there was more than enough comfortable sunbeds. No need to bring pool towels (hire for 10 euro each, returnable on leaving), shampoo, shower gel or hairdryer...all helps with the Ryanair baggage allowance. The hire of reusable plastic cups is a great idea that gets rid of so much mess and waste. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss but the team try very hard and it was something to do in the evening. A nice touch was when we arrived, before midday, the room wasn't ready but we could leave the luggage and we're given AI wristbands straight away. Well done Aluasun. You're getting everything right!

The team were good and made the experience okay but the hotel is very dated, the bathrooms in particular. Very noisy around the pool as the kids are there with the inflatables because they are not allowed in the kids pool with them! No issue getting a lounger but if you are at the front you will get splashed… Fabian / Sergio on the bar are great and remember your drinks order. The security guard ( we didn’t get his name ) was also excellent, very cheerful and was helping the bar staff. The evening entertainment was poor apart from the live singer on sat night. Buffett restaurant was very busy and the food was ok but the choice wasn’t always the best, although we always found something to eat. The fajitas were nice as was the omelettes at breakfast. Overall okay for a long weekend stay like we had but I wouldn’t want to be there for a week. I wish I could give it more stars as the staff were good
