Hotel Melissa - Calabria
I visited during the off season, when Hotel Melissa was one of the few places to stay in the area. There is very little to do or see in Torre Melissa, but the weather was lovely and warm, the beach is beautiful and completely empty. I had a lovely conversation with the local fishermen who were emptying their catch while repairing their nets on the beach in front of the hotel. The hotel, which has one of the only "upscale" restaurants in the area was packed on a Friday night. The food was delicious and fresh, while the service was great and the servers friendly. The town is only a few minutes drive to nearby Torre Ciro' and about 25 minutes from its mountain top sister, Ciro', both of which are pretty and worth the effort.

Hotel staff amazing. The restaurant at hotel is one of the best restaurants we have eaten throughout Italy. Throughly enjoyed visiting my father’s home town. Definitely be back.

Staff were FANTASTIC Couldn’t do enough for us. 1st room BEAUTIFUL VIEW of beach & was spacious unfortunately air conditioner decided to go on vacation too so we were moved to a 2nd room. Shower in 1st room was not good because was low on pressure couldn’t wash your hair properly. 2nd room shower pressure was how it should be. Breakfast is included & was a standard European breakfast. Milk, yoghurts, butters & water not kept cold only put in a container with ice pack.

Il design elegante di questa struttura, combinato con i suoi servizi molto professionali, lo collocano tra le eccellenze della zona. Al ristorante oltre alla sala interna si può fruire di un'ampia ed elegante terrazza in cui trascorrere serate indimenticabili, avvolti nel chiarore di luna in riva al mare. In quest'atmosfera magica e accogliente il personale, competente e disponibile, è sempre attento e disposto a fornire anche ottimi consigli. Il menù offre una deliziosa gamma di piatti, tutti sapientemente realizzati con ingredienti freschi e di alta qualità. Grazie alla sua posizione privilegiata in riva al mare ed al servizio eccellente, le nostre serate sono state davvero memorabili. L'hotel "Melissa" ed il ristorante "Il Delfino" sono ormai diventati la nostra scelta preferita per tutte le volte che ci rechiamo in zona. Non potremmo mai raccomandarli abbastanza, magari anche solo per una fantastica esperienza culinaria. Consigliatissimo anche per un'ottima pizza!" Un ringraziamento particolare al personale direttivo, in special modo a Mariangela e Michele per il loro elegante "savoir-faire" e per la loro disponibilità, con cui hanno ulteriormente allietato le nostre serate con simpatica e spensierata compagnia.

This hotel is in a nice location but could use new beds. They are the thin IKEA type foam mattresses so it is hard to get a good night sleep. Breakfast is ok but the hotel is so hot. They have some very small air conditioner for the breakfast room but they leave the door open so any cold air just flows out. It’s hard to enjoy breakfast when the room is boiling.

Terrazza spettacolare sul mare. Cena a base di pesce. Antipasto misto di mare ottimo (un piatto va bene per due). Abbiamo preso una frittura e un tonno scottato. Il tonno leggermente salato ma indubbiamente qualità alta. Abbiamo preso anche un primo di carne con porcini freschi e si sentivano, ed un primo di pesce ottimo. Sicuramente lo consiglio a tutti. Prezzo giusto per quello che abbiamo preso e bevuto. Personale molto gentile.
