Gainsboro Guest House. Excellent An excellent guest house. The hosts, Gaynor and Richard, were superb. They were friendly, welcoming and professional. The facilities were excellent. Really good breakfasts too. The Gainsboro would be our first choice if we return to Torquay.

Great place to stay. Close to the train station and walking distance to the beach, bars and restaurants. The room was clean and spacious and we felt very welcome. The breakfast was lovely, and thank you for our toast before our early exit! We will see you next year :-)

We have just had a week's holiday at the Gainsborough. Returning home 15th sep 2023. Richard, and Gaynor are lovely people, who displays friendliness, and charm. Their B&B is absolutly beautifull. It is spotless, and the decor is a credit to them. Our room was situated at the front, and had tea/coffee facilities. The bed was amazing, lovely and comfy, and spotless. I would not hesitate recommending anyone to visit this B& B You will certainly get a very warm welcome. Oh, and by the way, the Breakfast was cooked by Richard, and was spot on, red hot. The garden at the front was beatifull. It is definitely worth 5 stars .Well done Richard and Gaynor. Hope to see you again next year, God willing. Oh, and the train station and sea front are 3/4minutes from the Guest house.

The owners Gaynor and Richard are warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, the guest house is clean, fresh and well presented. Breakfast was hot and delicious, we would not think twice about a return visit x

I have stayed at this Guest House twice and it is a pleasure to stay. As a party of 4 we had 2 rooms. We couldn't find fault in either room, and last year was no different. The beds are comfortable and there is also a tea and coffee available in the room. The location is great, close to the train station and only a short walk to Torquay centre. There is also the beautiful village of Cockington a nice leisurely stroll away. Breakfast can't be faulted, one of the best I have ever had whilst staying in a hotel. Cooked for when you are ready and served hot each day. The hosts Richard and Gaynor are very pleasant and attentive. I had to change my plans a couple of times and they were very helpful to us in doing this even at short notice. I can highly recommend staying at this beautiful Guest House. Staying in the second room was also a lovely experience, the room was clean when we arrived and was stocked with things such as blankets, shampoo, bodywash, and a hairdryer; we were able to get any extra items such as towels quite easily. The wi-fi and signal was also great which made the stay even more pleasurable. Furthermore the breakfast service was lovely to have and had a great range of choices which you could choose between pre-meal each day.
