This is a quiet, elegant hotel in the heart of old Toledo. I did not give it 5 stars only because if you drive there it is hard to get to, the parking situation is difficult (unless you have a handicap placard and are lucky to find a space in front of the hotel, which fortunately was our situation) and the breakfast was not very good. First is location. It is walking distance to practically all the tourist spots in Old Toledo, being about 3 blocks walking to the Cathedral and main square. Toledo is a medieval city with narrow, winding streets, cobblestones and lots of stairs. If you do not stay in the old city you are relegated to parking outside and taking buses to certain, limited locations or taxis. It is very nice to just walk out of your hotel to see all the sights. The difficulty is that if you are driving there, you must drive up narrow streets one way, and past the public parking garage they use to get to the hotel. Because I have mobility issues and carry my handicap parking placard I could use one of the few parking spaces in front of the hotel for my car. Otherwise, I would have had to drive to the parking garage, which due to one way streets, would have required a 30+ minute drive around the entire city to get back to the entrance (which when we passed it on the way in had a sign saying it was full). If you are not driving to Toledo (taking train from Madrid or bus) you can take a taxi to the hotel. The hotel is subdued and elegant, with a lovely lobby and lobby bar. I had booked a mini suite room which was large, very comfortable and had plenty of space for storing luggage. It overlooked the cul de sac in front of the hotel and was very quiet, except when the school children came by on their way to school at the end of the cul de sac (Which did not disturb us since we already were up). The staff were all helpful and extremely professional and pleasant. Due to my mobility issues, we decided to check out a day early and the staff was very nice to agreeing to us leaving a day early without paying any penalty. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was very good with excellent service. Breakfast, however, was not very good. You could order eggs cooked to order, but the selection of other dishes, pastries, breads, etc was very limited, the chairs were uncomfortable and the tables too small. All in all, I would heartedly recommend this hotel for anyone planning a trip to Toledo who is looking for a place to stay which is elegant and comfortable and well located for seeing all the major sights.
