This is simply a wonderful place to stay. Each room has a lovely view of Lake Superior from your own private balcony. The rooms are clean and quiet and very comfortable. The woman at the front desk had a great sense of humor and was very helpful. Checking in with super easy. This is just the best place to stay on the North Shore. It seems to be something of a well kept secret, but I really wouldn’t stay any place else.

We've been staying here for 2 decades. Its lovely being on Lake Superior. The sad part is how worn everything on the outside of the building has become. When it was privately owned, care was given to paint and repair. The metal staircases are so rusted and deteriorated that it will be hard to restore them. Peeling paint should be restored also. Please do something to save this motel and keep it nice.

I am saddened by the deterioration in this property. The view is extraordinary and the rooms are not bad but the exterior is badly in need of work. The metal staircases are so severely corroded thst I'm concerned about their stability. The trim is peeling and things just generally look shabby. When it was family owned I feel more care was given. We've been coming here for about 25 years. The price has shot up but the condition really needs improvement.

This is a comfortable and welcoming hotel, accommodating travelers with their pets. Rooms have balconies with great lake views. There is a sunroom which offers travelers to a larger space to spend time, letting family groups gather, and offering games or puzzles for rainy days. There is a continental breakfast in the morning. The wall fans do a good job of keeping things cool on warmer days. The balconies do not seem to be safety compliant regarding little kids and pets. No lake access. Plenty of flying insects.

The balcony view was perfect; the room was tasteful, beds comfortable, crisp linens ( not the cheap, clingy microfiber bedding, thankfully). Quiet room, helpful staff, nice common areas. Would definitely recommend, and as a little getaway ( I live only an hour inland) it cannot be beat. Good access to hiking and biking, and of course the serenity of Lake Superior.

No pool, beds are only full sized, no cable tv, tv is small with blurry screen. Rooms are clean but very overpriced.

We had an amzing view. There was a storm that came thru the first night and power was out until 5am. But we still had running water. Beds were comfortable. I left something in the room, cliff dweller staff contacted me and shipped it for shipping plus $5. I would absolutely stay here again.

I have stayed here often when I visit the North Shore. The rooms are lovely, but the balconies over the lake cannot be beaten. I generally make coffee in the room and sit on the balcony in the morning, but coffee, tea, and light breakfast items are available. The staff is always friendly, and the area is quiet for those looking to relax.
