When we pulled off the main road into the parking area we weren't too sure what we'd let ourselves in for (having booked it months in advance from Australia). Appearances can be deceiving ! The older lady who greeted us was very pleasant (even though she was a little difficult to understand). We had a compact cabin which had a very comfortable sofa bed in the main room which also had a table, 4 chairs, sink, full sized stove and full sized fridge. Our friends had a separate, small bedroom with a comfy double bed. The bathroom was small but the shower was nice and hot with good water pressure. We got clean linen every day (without requesting it). Despite it's proximity to the main road it was reasonably quiet. We walked a short distance up the road towards town for coffee and pastries at the bakery and ice cream from the chocolatier. It was basic but well priced and comfortable.

Der Preis ist eine absolute Frechheit! Das Zimmer ist klein, so auch das Bett (wenn man sich darauf bewegt, hat man das Gefühl es bricht zusammen). Alles war einigermaßen sauber und frisch. Aber wir haben uns überhaupt nicht wohl gefühlt. Die Türe wie auch die Fenster sind sehr dünn, daher hatten wir das Gefühl die Autos fahren durch das Zimmer.

Clean, nicely sized, friendly staff. Not the prettiest of places, no communal area, but a good relatively cheap place to stay in an expensive area! Good access to beaches and town isn't far away, with food huts just a few minutes walk away (Although limited options if it's raining as seating is outdoors)

My family and I love Dolphin motel, right away you get greeted with the warmest smiles from the owners. The pillows are the fluffiest and comfiest, the rooms are clean and love all the beautiful flower trees and plants ...needed to stay longer and the owner was happy to accommodate us

Clean room and great owners. I stay here whenever I was out for a surf - walking distance to Chesterman and at a reasonable price. The Dolphin Motel fills the role of dependable and affordable accommodations for the Tofino area. This is a basic, clean accommodation that's priced accordingly and shouldn't be confused for the luxurious resorts in the area. If you're there for the outdoors and natural beauty of the area, then this motel is all you need.

We stayed one night at The Dolphin. Cheaper than most in Tofino area and cheerful, spotlessly clean, coffee maker and fridge provided, two really comfortable king size beds. The owners let us leave our luggage first thing in the morning and for most of the next day after check out. They also sorted a taxi out for the airport. This meant we effectively added two days to the holiday on which we didn't have to trail around with our luggage. Great location with the famous Tacofino less than a minutes walk, also bike hire, surf lessons, morning coffee and bakery open from 7am. Chestermann beach is 5 mins walk and the free bus shuttle stop to Tofino is 1 min. You really don't need a car. Veronica is great, she made our stay. Don't be put off by looks, its a lovely little place!
