The chef at Kameya is truly gifted. We enjoyed wonderful meals all over Japan, but the meals at Kameya were extraordinary. The freshest sashimi, local beef freshly grilled at table…the selection of dishes at each meal was varied and delicious and the presentation was beautiful and artistic. The staff at Kameya is warm and attentive. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. This was the only hotel that we visited offering a private bathing experience for individuals or couples in addition to the public bath separating men and women. The hotel is steps from the beach. We were the only ones swimming—- it was June and the locals thought it was too cold— but it was balmy for these Californian open water swimmers:) Kameya is a pearl in Toba.
