Oyado the Earth

I stayed there in 2017 and went back this year. The difference is huge. The service in the entrance coffee lobby is no longer the same as in 2017, and the quality of dinner is much worse than before. The windows were very dirty, but the view was still beautiful. The service from the hotel staff remains friendly.

Erg authentieke plek. Erg rustig en relaxend. Fantastische omgeving. Realiseer je echter wel dat hef volledig gericht is op de Japanse toerist. Alle maaltijden zijn Japans, westerse gerechten, ook bij het ontbijt, zijn niet beschikbaar. Voor ons was het na 1 dag voldoende.

Used by couples. It was an inn that I wanted to stay for a long time, so I had high expectations. The food was delicious, but considering the price, it's a level. I felt that the level of customer service was low except for those who were in charge of meals. When I tried to enter the open-air bath in my room after dinner, it was so hot that I was burned (actually turned bright red). We contact the front desk, but reply is good, but temperature does not readily change. I contacted them again and asked them to come to my room. The staff who helped me acknowledged that the temperature was high, but it took an hour or so before the temperature did not drop and I was able to enter. The next morning, when I checked out, there was no apology. The staff member next to me said, "Were you not able to enter after that?" In a sense, I had an experience that I could not have at an inn that costs more than 50,000 per night per person. To some extent, it seems that there are regular customers, but honestly, I didn't feel very good because the response to regular customers and new customers was clearly different. I found it difficult to acquire new customers.

Last time, my wife and I went there together and we really liked it, so this year we stayed for a couple of nights. Of all the places we liked, we especially liked this spa, so we made a reservation this time, and headed to Onjuku in time for it 🚙 We arrived just in time, and were given a welcome sparkling wine while checking in 🥂. . . This time, we stayed in the same room as last time, the Premium Suite with Dining, Room 209 of the Onsen building, "Sankai" (・∀・) Nice!! We put our luggage down and headed straight to the spa～～～ At the spa, we were greeted by the same woman who had been there last time and another woman who explained the menu and discussed the contents, and we decided to have a 100-minute full body and head spa. . . Just as I was thinking, "Wow, this feels so good", my stomach started to growl (lol). I'd been feeling unwell since the beginning of August, and on this day, for the first time since the 1st of August, I felt incredibly hungry 🙌 This day was the 22nd 😲 After a 100-minute SPA, both my body and stomach felt refreshed (lol), it was time for dinner in the dining room of our room, which had been prepared for us early. We were wondering if we could eat in the car on the way here, but now we're so hungry we can't stand it🎶 The dining area attached to our room was already prepared, so we sat down and started with a beer as usual🍻 First up was the appetizer - conger eel skin, cucumber and dew ginger, eel rolled with hachiman, horse mackerel sushi roll, salmon rolled with lotus root, chicken Matsukaze, conger eel roe, boiled Maruju lemon, and ginkgo pine needles. All were delicious, but the conger eel roe and horse mackerel sushi roll were the best❣. The beer went down well. Next was sashimi, so we ordered cold sake. The sashimi consisted of sweet shrimp, turban shell, amberjack, and grunt, beautifully arranged on a plate covered with ice 🐟🦐 This went well with cold sake ❣ Next was the soup, a clear soup with pounded shrimp kudzu, edamame tofu, grilled gluten, lotus root, and matsuba yuzu. The gentle broth made both our hearts and stomachs happy 🎵 The main dish was butter-grilled black abalone from Ise-Shima, asparagus, tomato, king oyster mushroom, and liver sauce. This was a surprise ❕ It was perfect for two abalone lovers. I wanted to lick the liver sauce off the plate (lol) The person in charge of the room told me that abalone, which used to be common, has become much less common recently. Especially black abalone... It seems that wakame seaweed is becoming scarcer, so there are fewer abalone to eat wakame seaweed. I wonder if the sea water temperature is rising after all❓ Mixed dish: Eel and winter melon Hakata - baby potato, pumpkin, carrot, Sando beans, Arima sansho paste, kinome leaf buds The eel is placed on top of the softly cooked winter melon and the sansho paste has just the right amount of saltiness, making it a great match (・∀・) Good!! Grilled appetizer: Freshly caught suzuki miso, grilled scallop with yolk, green chili pepper, chestnut fu dengaku - these scallops are super yummy~ Mixed appetizer: Beef loin - carrot, pearl onions, zucchini, burdock with Japanese sauce - the soft meat and delicious Japanese sauce were great❣ Even I, who don't like beef, ate it all up in no time. The last meal was rice with small fish. I laughed because the rice cooker was making a sound of completion while I was eating (lol). Miso soup with mixed miso, three kinds of pickles. The rice with small fish was so delicious that I had a second helping 💦 This, along with the fruit dessert, made me feel like I was about to burst. I didn't have much of an appetite before coming here, but I was able to eat so much 😲 After the meal, I relaxed in the open-air bath attached to the room, and the first day went by. . . Breakfast was Japanese food at the dining room "Arashi". There was a lot of grilled fish, rolled omelette*, takiawase, sashimi, salad, etc. 🍚 Once we checked out, we went to visit Ise (Naiku). *I will upload it separately. When we returned to Onjuku, we stayed in room 112 of the Ushio Building, called "Senpa", a maisonette suite. I've always wanted a maisonette since I was a child, so I was really looking forward to it ♫ The room also had a veranda called the "Moon Viewing Platform", but I never went out (^^; After exploring the room, I found that the open-air bath attached to the room was small, and it was probably in a different building from the room the day before, but the room seemed old and rough, so my excitement was suddenly dampened 💦 So, after sweating from our visit to Ise Shrine, the two of us went to the large public bath for the first time, but it was so small that I immediately got out and went into the hot spring in our room (lol) Now, it was time for the fun part, dinner 🙌 Since there was no dining area in the room tonight, we ate in a private room in the dining room "Arashi" 🍚 First, we had beer 🍻 and ordered some cold sake. Appetizer: Chawanmushi with a plate of eggplant and shrimp. I love chawanmushi, so my excitement was building up again (lol) Sashimi: Sweet shrimp, flounder and flounder, amberjack and black abalone. This black abalone was so delicious! 👏👏 Soup: Conger eel soup. I don't like matsutake mushrooms, so they changed it to shimeji mushrooms. Rice dish: I forgot what it was, but it was a rice dish of fish, small potatoes, carrots, snow peas, etc. Grilled dish: A large grilled prawn and black abalone came out in an abalone shell, and the two of them exclaimed in excitement. 👏 A luxurious dish filled with black abalone, it was a happy dish. Main dish: Beef stew. The person in charge explained that it was a dish made with the utmost care by Executive Chef Yamakawa, who loves meat. ❣ This beef stew was so delicious that it changed my concept of beef stew I had eaten before, and as you would expect from an executive chef who loves meat, it was the Best of The Beef Stew 👏👏👏 Mixed appetizers: Shrimp and grunt tempura. I'm not feeling well yet, so I can't eat fried food yet, and it smelled like it was fried... Sorry... For the final course, we had rolled sushi with lots of ingredients such as tuna and new noodles. This rolled sushi was really good~ For dessert, we had yogurt and fruit with blueberry sauce. Wow, I was really full (lol) After the meal, I took a relaxing bath in the hot spring in my room to relieve the fatigue of the day ♨ Good morning! For breakfast, we had Japanese food in the dining room 🍚. There was a lot of food, including spiny lobster miso soup, taro stew, chawanmushi, sweet shrimp sashimi, rolled omelette, and salad (・∀・) Good!! I really feel like I was able to get back all the nutrition I've had since the beginning of August in these two days. After that, my appetite returned and I was really glad❣ I think it was thanks to the SPA, but I also think it was thanks to the many delicious dishes prepared by Executive Chef Yamakawa, which looked beautiful. The black abalone and beef stew were especially amazing❣ I'll definitely be back.
