King Arthurs Arms

King Arthur’s Arms is fabulously located next to a huge car park, yet on Fore Street, which is the Main Street running through Tintagel and about 3 minutes walk to the top of the hill leading down to English Heritage’s Tintagel Castle. On arrival we were checked in at the bar by Jess with a very friendly Cornish welcome. The smell of cleanliness emerged us as we walked up to our huge room with double bed, wardrobe, dressing table, easy chairs and huge bathroom with double walk in shower, sink, toilet and heated radiator. Huge room for Cornwall and immaculate. We chilled out and wandered along and around Tintagel Castle, then back to the pub for dinner. It’s an extensive menu with huge portions. There was no issue with pub noise and we slept well, waking for an extensive breakfast which commences with a choice of pastries and cereals, then Full English, teas, coffees and juices! We were then able to stay parked for a few hours after check out at 10am to wander around Tintagel. Really cannot recommend King Arthur’s Arms enough and particularly so to single parents with kids-safe, friendly and accommodating and shout out to Jess for super friendly service throughout!

We ate here on our recent 3 day trip to Tintagel for my husband's 60th. We actually came here for a drink but on looking at the menu we decided it may be a good choice for our second night's dinner. They had 2 options on the specials board for vegetarians, but neither of which I can eat, so I asked at the bar if the kitchen would be happy to do me a veggie version of their lunchtime menu ploughmans. They said yes so we booked up. Well how glad are we that we did, my husband ordered the gammon and I had the preordered ploughmans (which a lady we'd not even seen the the evening before knew about), so we were impressed before we even ate. The food was amazing!!! Plentiful and just so yummy. So good in fact that before I'd even finished eating, as the lady who served us came past and said 'that looks so good', I said it was and would the kitchen be willing to do it again tomorrow if we book up again. She checked and they were happy to do so, so we ate here two nights in a row and I had the ploughmans' both times! I also have to say that the service here is fantastic. This is a really friendly, buzzing pub and we'd happily return again to eat.
