The hotel is blessed with the most amazing natural setting high in the hills with a beautiful vista down to the Aegean – you’d be hard pressed to find a better view in Tinos! The hotel itself has been beautifully designed to match its natural surroundings; the room was spacious and clean. However, the service did not match the 5* location and given the hotel’s price point I think they need to do a lot better on this front if they want to succeed in making the hotel a luxury option in Tinos. A couple of observations: - A complimentary bottle of water was provided on arrival in your room – this was never replenished during our 5 night stay. - Service around the pool area was practically non-existent (you had to go looking for waiting staff if you wanted a drink). - The lamps which created the mood lighting next to our table were removed mid-dinner service and taken upstairs for a private function. - We struggled to arrange car hire and when I contacted the hotel prior to our arrival they just provided me with the telephone number of their preferred supplier. Again, given the price point of the hotel and fact its targeting the luxury market, you’d expect them to be of more assistance in arranging this. - One evening we ordered drinks after returning from dinner to enjoy on our balcony. We had to stand in middle of restaurant to wait for them – if there is no lounge / bar area then they should be better equipped to provide room service. Operationally, the hotel was operated as a restaurant and not as a hotel. The hotel has huge potential but they do need to address these operational issues if they wish to succeed in the luxury market.

Last month we had the pleasure of staying at the Olia Hotel in Mykonos. This hotel is a hidden gem placed on the Mykonos Port hillside, with Greece’s signature whitewashed architecture. Our room was spectacular, and had a small balcony that overlooked the Aegean Sea. When we arrived in Milos, our son had left his dinosaur stuffed animal at the Olia hotel. The staff at the hotel was fantastic! Quickly answering our emails confirming they had the dinosaur. The Olia staff asked where we were traveling next and they had a courier deliver our dinosaur to our hotel in Athens at no charge to us. They made our little boy happy knowing his stuffed animal was going to meet us in Athens. They treated us like gold while we were there and even after we have left. This hotel and staff is truly remarkable and is a must stay on our next visit. Special thanks to the Olia hotel and staff for being so kind and attentive, their special care really made a difference. We picked the Hotel for the convenience of being close to the port, but was overly impressed by the cleanliness, beautiful location and kindness by everyone! They went above and beyond in making our stay wonderful! And for caring for our little boy was priceless! They didn’t have to send the dinosaur to our next location, but they did…. The hotel is in an excellent location Within 100 meters from Old Port Pier and North Bus Station There are lounge chairs around the pool for sunbathing The room is large in size and has an independent balcony to enjoy the sunset on Mi Island.

The hotel upgraded our room for free. The room was tidy and clean. Because it was the off-peak tourist season, most of the restaurants on the island were closed. We ordered food at the hotel in the evening. The food tasted really good, especially the yogurt. We left the next day. The hotel also specially arranged free airport drop-off service. The service was in place and I was satisfied!

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel pre pandemic for a delightful 10-night stay, which prompted us to book again without hesitation. However, due to our Jet2 flight schedule, we decided to extend our stay to 11 nights. Despite a slight delay in our flight, we arrived at the hotel around 9:30 PM and were warmly greeted by the reception staff. The driver who picked us up also kindly took our bags to our room. As expected, the room was clean and provided us with a lovely view of the Aegean Sea. Unfortunately, our first night's sleep was disrupted by a group of drunken individuals shouting at each other. However, we understand that such incidents can occur anywhere, and thankfully, the following nights were much quieter. The breakfast options at the hotel were excellent, although the coffee from the machine could have been a touch hotter when selecting a cappuccino. The hotel's location is ideal for exploring Mykonos town, as it is just a short walk up the hill. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time by the pool, basking in the sun. The pool area offers a great selection of comfortable sun loungers, allowing guests to relax and unwind. Additionally, the bar menu provided a variety of delicious food and drinks at reasonable prices. We were impressed by the polite, well-dressed, and hard working staff from reception, housekeeping, food service, and bar. One standout employee was Ele, who worked at the poolside bar. He took the time to learn our names and remembered them throughout our stay, providing exceptional service. Another star among the staff was Georgia who works front of house. She tirelessly worked to fulfill a request I had made, demonstrating her dedication to ensuring complete guest satisfaction. In summary, the Ilios Maris hotel is an excellent choice for accommodation in Mykonos. Our positive experience, coupled with the attentive staff, great amenities, and convenient location, made our stay truly enjoyable. We will be back.

Hotel run by a super lovely family! Very beautiful room like you find in Mykonos alone. My wife and I stayed at Mykonos Moussa (4) wonderful nights! We arrived at the Mykonos ferry port at 9:30 PM and were met by the very polite, considerate and helpful owner George for a transfer to our beautiful room. In the morning, we awoke to an awesome view of Agios Ioannis Beach and the island of Delos from our balcony. Shortly afterwards, we sat down to a delicious optional breakfast delivered to our balcony by George. Our room was the best that we stayed in during our (3) week trip to Greece. Spotlessly clean with a Myconian designed exterior and spacious interior. The beach and crystal clear Aegean was just a short walk away and the bus stop was literally across the street from the Mykonos Moussa property. Mykonos Town (Chora) is only a short 1.6 mile bus ride away. This is a perfect location for those wishing to visit the main town and beaches while staying at a quiet distance from the crowd. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at 5 Hermoupolis Concept Sites, and had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend staying there! Christos, the owner, is so helpful, friendly, and nice. Just an absolutely wonderful host. When we first arrived, he gave us recommendations for restaurants and answered any other questions we had. We opted to do the breakfast for an additional charge and it was delicious--fresh bread, some homemade pastry/cake in addition to delicious Greek yogurt and homemade jams. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. The location is absolutely ideal--we walked from the ferry to the hotel with our rolling suitcases. It is only a 1-2 minute walk to get from the hotel to the main square in Ermoupoli. Everything was within easy walking distance from the hotel. We were on the second floor (U.S. third floor) with a balcony and a peak of the harbor. The hotel looks out on the pretty back of the Apollon Theatre, and despite being so close to the main square, it was very quiet. The room and bathroom were both modern and very clean.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Syros and the Diogenis Hotel was a wonderful location - literally across the street from the ferry port. Hermoupolis is a thriving town, that doesn't appear to have been discovered by Americans yet. Many good restaurant and beach options. Strongly recommend driving around the island to check out the beach towns - easily done in a day. The staff were so helpful and friendly, directing us to good restaurants and rental car services. A few suggestions - request a room with a view of the port on the 2nd floor or higher. Much better views on the upper floors. And even with the wonderful views, plan on closing the windows at night due to the noise from the port. Good news - the windows cancel out the noise and the rooms are air conditioned. Also we found the breakfast to be sub-par - would have preferred a larger selection of pastries (though the breakfast cakes were delicious), fresh juice (vs. watery bottled stuff), and better coffee. The bathrooms are small, more European size - but more than adequate. In summary, we would stay at the Diogenis again in a heartbeat because of the location and the quality service.
