Hotel Jungle Lodge Tikal

Understandably, the hotel is in the jungle, meaning it doesn't have electricity around the clock. This means no AC and cold showers (depending on what time you're taking a shower). The ceiling fans work even after the power is off, though, so that's a plus. As for the staff in the restaurant, the ones that we encountered seemed like they did not enjoy working in the hospitality industry... I wouldn't go back. Instead, I'd recommend staying just outside the park at Gringo Perdido. (Read my review on their page.)

Just finished 3 days and 2 nights at The Jungle Lodge. My thoughts: 1. A great place to stay based on location alone. 2. Wifi is reliable in public areas of the hotel. 3. Ask you driver to stop at a market en route from Flores to Tikal for snacks and water. I thought it was ridiculous that the hotel only gives you 1 L of water per day and charges you 28 quetzals / liter of water. We were already paying $350 / night, I think they could throw in a normal amount of water or have filtered water available for guests. 4. Hotel food is fine. Nothing spectacular, but prices and quality could have been worse! 5. There are 2 other food options 3 minute walk away from the hotel. Don't bother. Its not worth saving $5 per person as they were sketchy. 6. There was water in the little shops across from jungle lodge for half the price - buy it there. 7. Tours through jungle lodge were EXCELLENT. Did the day tour and the sunrise tour the next morning also! 8. Shuttle arranged by Jungle Lodge was easy, fast, reasonably priced and sir conditioned. Highly recommend. 9. We had our 3 kids with us and i'd highly recommend Jungle Lodge for convenience and the pool. I can't imagine having to travel from Flores each day with kids. 10. This hotel is not a Fairmont, so don't expect that. It's still very good and besides, you're paying for the location.

A great place to stay for visiting Tikal and/or Uaxactun. We also booked our Tikal tours through jungle lodge and they were great. Cesar was our tour guide for the sunset tour and the dude is on another level. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and his passion for the subject is infectious. We opted for a different tour company to visit uaxactun, but nonetheless, would highly recommend staying at jungle lodge.

This is such a unique hotel! Staying right in the jungle of Tikal is incredible and well worth it. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean too! Cesar was our guide for our Sunset Tour of Tikal and he was very knowledgeable and a fun time! Definitely need to request him if you can. Jonathon was another guide we had for our Sunrise Tour of Tikal and he was super knowledgeable and friendly as well! We had a great time staying here and would definitely come back. Tikal is awesome!

We had two junior suites which were spacious and comfortable. Agree with other reviews that the service in the restaurant was pretty surly. Food was ok. Reception were really helpful and friendly. Pool area needs a serious refurb - it was very tired. Best thing is the location - literally a 5 min walk. It’s the only option if you want the proximity to the park.
