Consolar International Hotel

We recently stayed at the Consolar International Hotel in Axum for three days, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The owner/ Manager was so helpful and polite. The hotel is clean, modern, and thoughtfully decorated, blending comfort with a touch of local culture. Location-wise, Consolar is perfect for exploring Axum. It’s close to major historical sites, making it convenient for sightseeing without needing long commutes. The staff also helped arrange tours, providing insightful guidance on the must-visit spots. Overall, I highly recommend Consolar International Hotel to anyone visiting Axum. It’s the ideal place to experience the charm of this historic city with all the comforts of a top-notch hotel. We’ll definitely be returning on our next trip to Ethiopia!”

A nice, clean room, good bed, good shower , a delicious breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. We felt at home at this hotel. The restaurant in the hotel is good. There's a large selection of affordable meals, both local dishes and international food. In the afternoon traditional coffee with popcorn and local bread (Hembasha) is served for free.

Consolar hotel was a lovely stay in Aksum. Quiet, comfortable and spacious room, and very attentive service. Also, the lunch buffet was delicious! I recommend it. The electricity occasionally went out, but Consolar hotel has a backup generator which they turned on quickly during outages. I appreciated that. Aksum is a beautiful and historically rich town. Definitely worth a visit. Our guide took us for a little hike up to the Abba Pentalewon Monastery (which is visible from the hotel) and it was a beautiful and refreshing stroll.
