Fine dining is a no ! Put on a small table within a bar setting not a restaurant, with a larger gentleman behind me who commandeered the full area had to sit beside my partner.Prawns dumped on a pile of leaves ,and plate dumped in front of me with no cutlery ,brought the cutlery and dumped down in front of me did not attempt to set it out. Featherblade of beef a reheat ,loaded with fat during the meal noone asked how it was or would have been highlighted. Made to look like a fine dining establishment online couldn't be further from the truth ,eating in the middle of a bar with locals. Now the room the only positive was the view ,smelled of urine tiny room uncomfortable bed and shower was thermostatic but didn't work no heat from it at all my partner went in and had to come straight out . Booked breakfast for 9 a.m but after all the mishaps decided to leave so went an hour early 8 a.m hung about for 15 mins no one was available ,breakfast room locked ,reception shutter down all lights off ,no where to leave key for room. When firstly arriving we said it was reminiscent of faulty towers ,it lived up to the thoughts. We go to alot of hotels across often but this is not worth what they are charging ! I Think that the reviews are potentially from the locals who frequent the bar .Bad experience won't be back .

The people here are so friendly, very accommodating. Location is lovely by the water and the ales in the pub were tasty. Couple of niggles which, in fairness, I didn’t mention at the time meant it could’ve been better. Extractor fan in room made quite a piercing screeching sound and the shower was extremely tight. Breakfast in the morning was tasty and in a lovely large room but the cups needed cleaning and mine had lipstick on from previous user so I switched it out. As I say though the people, just lovely.

Just back from a fantastic weekend at Kames Hotel. Beautiful weather made the stay even better. Great bar area, great place to sit outside with a beer and enjoy the majestic scenery. Bedrooms were clean and extremely comfortable. Food at night was stunning, with an amazing menu to choose from. Breakfast was great, again with a lot to choose from. Irene and her staff were a joy,and really do make the place tick, with all their hard work. Loved the place, and can't wait to get another wee visit.

Amazing choices on the main menu and today's specials and all from local suppliers. Portion sizes very filling and a great welcoming service from the front of house staff with a view over the water. We had the homemade steak pie with fresh vegetables and the chunkiest and tastiest chips ever!

Our stay was absolutely perfect, the hotel was lovely and the staff were absolutely superb, I especially loved watching the chickens outside in the garden. It was that lovely we are heading back in July.
