The room we had was large with two windows facing the bay. The building was older, but our room was quiet and comfortable. The location is great, across from the shore and just a short walk to town. Breakfast was good and hearty and the owner was friendly easy to talk with. All in all a very nice place to stay. Would recommend

Excellent BnB. Comfortable, well-appointed room. Quiet position near sea front and about 15 minutes walk from railway station. Responsive, helpful, accommodating host. Really useful info pack in room with loads of suggestions for what to do locally.

I loved my stay in this lovely B&B. The room was perfect, with everything I needed. The owner/landlady is a credit to the place. She couldn’t do more for me, and followed me to my room to make me welcome, and recommended a suggestion to eat dinner. She served a lovely breakfast, and we enjoyed a nice chat. I’ll definitely return it Im ever back in Thurso. I’d highly recommend.

We had a great stay here. Liz was fantastic. She was worried about the renovations happening while we were there but she informed us at the time of booking and it wasn’t a bother at all. Thanks again Liz. The location was perfect and an easy walk to anywhere

Pentland Lodge House is a beautiful listed building near the sea in Thurso. The rooms are large, very well maintained and decorated with top quality furnishings. We had a very large room with a beautiful en-suite. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, using local suppliers. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Only stayed one night but would not hesitate to book for longer next time. 10/10 Paula & Brian, Orkney.

Great night's sleep, lovely comfy bed. Spotlessly clean and comfortable room. Good quality toiletries provided. Super breakfast made with local produce. Being only five minutes away, it's very well located for the ferry. We will stay again.

Nach der langen Fahrt nach Thurso mussten wir die Lodge erst suchen. Einmal angekommen, wurden wir von Lisa sehr nett begrüsst, mit Geschichten zu Namen und Entstehung sowie Tipps zu Restaurants versorgt und ins Zimmer Middelton geführt. Wenn man bedenkt, wo Thurso liegt und wo man ist, dann ist das Zimmer hier mit sehr gut zu bewerten, auch wenn es einige kleine Mängel gibt. Die Freundlichkeit von Lisa, die kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten im Zimmer und das wirklich sehr gute Frühstück gleichen das aber locker aus. Leider konnten wir nach der langen Fahrt kein Restaurant zum Abendessen finden. Entweder waren sie ausgebucht oder zu. Die Pentland Lodge hat leider kein Restaurant. So mussten wir uns im Supermarkt etwas besorgen und haben am Strand gegessen. Ich empfehle also unbedingt irgendenwo einen Tisch im Voraus zu buchen. Die Pentland Lodge empfehlen wir aber auf jeden Fall weiter, wir haben gut geschlafen und waren gut versorgt.

We stayed at Pentland Lodge House for one night so that we could catch the early ferry to Orkney the next morning. Arriving about 6:40 pm, we were greeted warmly by the young woman on duty. We were given the Hoy Room on the second floor (by US terminology). The room was a good size and had room to lay out our luggage and open it too. The bathroom was typical for Scotland - small shower and sink. Everything was clean though which counts a lot in my book. This is the only BnB we stayed in that didn't ask us to choose our breakfast menu the night before. So when we went down at the earliest offered time of 7:00 am the next morning, they had to take our order and prepare it all then. It took almost 30 minutes for our food to come out and we needed to leave for the ferry by 7:40. So we had to gulp it down and hustle to check out. We made it to the ferry since it's only a 7-minute drive away, but we were getting worried! The house is close enough to town to walk to dinner and the oceanfront. Easy walk and mostly flat. Other than the breakfast issue, our stay was pleasant and worked for the 13 hours we were actually in Thurso.
