Tucked right along the road between Mey Castle and Thurso, Celtic Lodge is a charming little inn made up of three newly built cabanas. Each one features a cosy living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, and two bedrooms — one with a full-size bed, the other with a twin. The cabins are spotless and beautifully maintained: not a speck of dust, no damp, no chipped paint — everything feels fresh, modern, and just right. A thoughtful touch: the owner had left a bottle of milk in the fridge, ready for our arrival. We slept in late and enjoyed a quiet breakfast (we brought our own supplies), watching a deer wander just outside the kitchen window.

Wayne was an excellent host. Informative and helpful on arrival and prior to our arrival. The accommodation suits a great location in between Thurso and John O’Groats and is easy to find. Ample parking space too. The accommodation was spotless, tidy, not cluttered and had everything we needed for our 2 nights there. It was warm and cosy and we would certainly return again and also recommend Waynes Celtic Lodges. We booked via Air bnb and were fortunate to secure 2 nights in a busy period. Nothing was a problem for Wayne with any advice and help. It’s a lovely part of the world and we spent one day using the ferry to get to Orkney.
