Lovely stay but don't think I will go on a Saturday night again. You get more value for money midweek when it's less busy.

Adults only . Nice calm relaxing experience. Had a lovely break here. The spa is good. The grounds are very beautiful, lovely for a stroll around the lake. We had a really nice time. The only downside was breakfast. The hot food was lukewarm both mornings and the coffee machine only gives cold coffee. The staff said the machines are preset not to be hot . Waited 45 minutes for porridge and it wasn’t cooked when it came. Aside from the breakfast I would definitely recommend this hotel .

We enjoyed our stay at Lifehouse spa. My friend and I go every year. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, my friend particularly enjoyed the summer salad with chicken. We enjoyed the sun in the spa garden and the cocktails and wine. Thanks again Lifehouse, we will be back next year!

Stayed for 3 nights and the staff were brilliant; friendly and helpful without being overwhelming; from the gardener with tips for great walks, the restaurant and bar staff for whom nothing was too much - right through to the reception staff and spa staff. They all contributed to a really relaxing break. The setting too is amazing - fabulous historic gardens visited by figures from our past; King Edward and Queen Mary, Churchill and J.M. Barry all wandered through the gardens - birdlife abounds and you might just bump into a couple of Muntjac deer grazing quietly away. And after that walk you can have a sundowner and relax in the patio garden - the glorious sunshine was of course a huge bonus. Thank you once again for making our stay so memorable. Nick & Barbara

A very mixed experience but overall extremely disappointing. Nice food, lovely staff and a great facial in a bland building surrounded by beautiful gardens, but let down by a very tired and run down hotel, poor spa facilities that were dirty and low quality. Pros The staff - those we came across were excellent, polite, attentive and very helpful. With a special mention to Mandy at dinner and Cheryl for my facial. The food - we ate lunch in the bar, dinner in the restaurant and breakfast and all were nicely made, well cooked and presented and tasted nice. Not a huge selection but plenty to choose from for most tastes and dietary requirements seemed to be catered for. The gardens - pretty to walk around My facial - Cheryl was lovely and the therapy rooms were nice The bathroom - was basic but clean The room - basic and uninspiring but clean. Could do with a refresh. Cons The spa - the pool was dirty and unkempt with too many sun loungers so very close together. The jacuzzi was cold. No toilet paper or handwash in the toilet with a very dirty drain that you had to stand on in order to get to the toilet. The whole place felt unkempt and dirty and in need of a serious refurb. Not a pleasant spa setting The gym - old equipment and lacked any sort of atmosphere The rooms - bland and uninspiring and no air con (thankfully it wasn’t too hot during our stay) The general upkeep of the whole place - little things all around that needed fixing or cleaning let it down. We won’t be returning I’m afraid and I feel sorry for the staff who were wonderful but unfortunately their surroundings are letting the place down.

We visited Lifehouse for the first time in many years. Although my husband is in a wheelchair, we choose a Signature Room. If you can afford it, it is worth the difference. The room has plenty of space and the bed is amazing. I enjoyed the Spa facilities and we both enjoyed our treatments, which were included in the room rate. My husband didn't use the Spa facilities on this stay. The restaurant could have been better, the food was amazing, but the service was slow at best. The information regarding how you need to dress for dinner needs to have more clarity. It is vague, which means one persons idea or smart is very different to another. I had some issues with a member of the bar staff, she was very rude to me but Tina on the bar was great, especially with my husband, looking after him and being adaptable to a disabled person. The guys on the bar were also great. Neil, on Reception overnight, is a credit to the company. He is a true asset to the company. Despite a few issues we look forward to returning again later in the year.

This was my fourth visit to the Lifehouse and I thoroughly enjoyed it as always - my Mum and I had a lovely time. The spa facilities were great with plenty of areas to visit and indoor and outdoor seating options to choose from. However, I was quite disappointed to learn that the salt inhalation room was unavailable (it was also closed the previous time I had visited in Summer 2024). As always, a special shout out to the relaxation room which remains my favourite facility at the Lifehouse. Our room was spacious, well-designed and had everything we needed. We had upgraded to a garden room and this was a good decision; the patio was such a lovely bonus, especially as the weather was so warm when we visited. The only downside to the room was the temperature overnight, it was particularly warm. Use of the desktop fan did not overly seem to help. The quality of the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. I would actually say this was the best breakfast I have had so far at the Lifehouse. The grounds looked spectacular and we loved taking our time to walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery, flowers and greenery. Overall, it was a really lovely trip and we both left feeling very refreshed. For me personally, having visited a few times before (as mentioned), the great food quality and customer service received throughout our stay were particular noticeable. Looking forward to the next visit.
