Old Mill Rooms

The Tool Shed was ok for a quick overnight stay, very clean and a nice comfy bed.

First off the owners when contacted were lovely. The place itself could be beautiful but does look slightly run down. The room the granary was gorgeous inside with no issues. The outside "private" hot tub area looked a little worse for wear. Fence leaning over, looked like it needed a lot of TLC and is not private at all. Not inclosed, could see people walking past where it looks like a gate was needed and there was metal stairs going upstairs which we wernt sure where they went. The hot tub jets were also not powerful at all but was hot for arrival. Overall a nice stay but dont think we would return

Very clean and tidy room. The hotel is ideally situated and is very quiet and peaceful. Had a great nights sleep. Shower pressure and water temperature was great. Would like to try and me if the rooms with a hot tub when visiting again

We stayed here over Christmas. It was a good location for visiting family and they are nice rooms. There’s a few things that could really make this better though, and not major changes. Firstly the double mattress in the Barn Room has seen better days so a swap out there would really help - it was uncomfortable and my wife chose to sleep on the cot bed instead. Secondly the shower did tend to go a bit hot and cold for the second person using it - which wasn’t awful but just a bit frustrating. Finally - no fridge. We were there for three days and it’s a self contained room not a hotel. There was very generous tea and coffee and biscuits provided but nowhere for is to store anything cold. I am dairy free so the UHT milk provided wasn’t ok for me and my son wanted something soft to drink. A small fridge to put cold drinks in isn’t just a nice to have - I’d say it’s important for a set up like this. Having said all that - that’s hopefully just constructive criticism. These are nice rooms in a good spot for the local area and I would recommend them - especially with a few tweaks.

Nice room but don’t rely on charging your car here The Tool Shed room was nice and very clean. Check in was easy. Had booked this place because it advertises a charger for electric cars and I was travelling in my EV from Manchester so needed to charge. I called the day before to check the chargers toe to make sure it was compatible and received a photo of the charger. All good so far. Unfortunately when we arrived and saw where the charger was there was a large caravan next to it so was not accessible unless you had a 10m cable - standard 5 or 6m cables will not reach. After checking with the the guy when we checked in it looks like this caravan is permanently there. Only other problem we had was that the hot water ran out after about 10 seconds so had to have cold showers. Location is good and the pub About 50m away is really nice.

Party capital Hosts decided to have a party. They said we were invited, so said hello as not to be rude, but music didn’t finish till, 01.30. People didn’t leave till 2.00. Then family was up taking till 03.30. Only 30m away from our room. Had been to work that day and had been up since 6.00. Was hoping for a nice relaxed stay with hot tub. Hot tub was nice on the night. Decided to go in the hot tub again before we checked out, but it had gone cold showing error. Reception only open 3-7, and they choose not to answer the phone any time before or after, so pointless.
