The job was amazing at the start. My sister and I, who both got the job together, learned very quickly. Everyone was so nice and helpful when we were confused since it was our first job cleaning at a motel. However, we were fired out of nowhere, and it wasn’t even done face-to-face. We were told our time management wasn’t good, but neither my sister nor I were ever informed that we were doing poorly or given any guidance on how to improve. We were both just fired. When I spoke with Mollie Heape, the owner, in person to collect our last paycheck, she told us, ”You both are too young and inexperienced for this job.” She knew our ages before hiring us and was aware that this was my sister’s first job and my second. We learned quickly how to clean the cabins, make beds, and so on. I’ve noticed that some of the other employees there also look young, if not younger than us. Our age or inexperience had absolutely nothing to do with it; she just needed a reason to fire us, so she used that as an excuse. In messages where she informed my mom about us being fired, she admitted that she was barely present to train us. That’s accurate because she only helped us once during the entire time we worked there, she showed us how to fold a pillow. We were never given a chance to improve our ”time management” or address our ”inexperience.” Nothing was ever mentioned while we were working. I’m not the only one with such an experience; many others have reported similar issues while working for her. My sister and I even went so far as to do online school so we could work more days. Despite this, I noticed how she reduced our workdays from Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to just Saturday and Sunday. Then to just Sunday. I was so excited for this job and enjoyed working there, but this experience ruined it for me. Then her daughter, Lindsey Heape, started sending rude and unprofessional private messages to my mom about how we were not fit for this job, yet were never even talked to, so we could improve. Again, she was never there to train us. So if she really knew our work ethics then she would be able to explain what we did so terribly wrong. Horrible work experience, never again.
