Amazing Experience at Stay Mikado – Highly Recommended! From the moment I arrived in Malé, the transfer to Stay Mikado was smooth and hassle-free. Ameen contacted me in advance and provided all the necessary information, making the entire process easy and stress-free. The hotel room was immaculate and cleaned daily, which made for a very comfortable stay. The food was absolutely delicious—kudos to the chef, who always ensured there was plenty for everyone. Ameen went above and beyond organizing daily activities such as snorkeling, swimming, surfing, and excursions to nearby islands. There was always something fun and memorable to do. The island itself is ideal for anyone seeking a peaceful escape without the crowds. As a small hotel, it offers a quiet and intimate atmosphere. Ameen and his staff were incredibly attentive and always willing to go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and well cared for. The local people were also warm and friendly, adding to the overall charm of the experience. This was my first time at Stay Mikado, and I’m so glad I chose it. The B&B is right next to the port, and it is very convenient to go out to the sea. It is ten minutes away from the airport. There is a beautiful private beach next to the airport, where you can let the buggy take you there or ride a bike yourself. The hotel has an outdoor restaurant, which is open all day and late, which is quite good. The hotel buffet is also OK. There is a terrace on the third floor with hammocks, lounge chairs and a gym, where you can relax. The room is very large, it is a two-bedroom and one-living room suite. Each suite has a public living room, balcony and kitchen, which is still very spacious. It is just that room 201 is very close to the mosque, and it will be woken up by the chanting at 4:30 every day. If you mind, you can communicate with the boss in advance to ask for a room with a different orientation. The hotel service is very good. Before leaving the hotel to go to the airport, the staff will help to transport the luggage to the airport for check-in in advance, help to get the boarding pass, and finally, as long as you go to the airport half an hour in advance, you can go directly to the security check and board the plane. Living alone on a private island for 5 days with just our tent was absolutely magical. Everything was simple, bright, and full of emotion. In October 2024, I was forced to cancel my paid reservation at the Stay Mikado hotel (2.5 months before the arrival date). The owner of the hotel, Ameen, said that he would return all the money for the cancelled trip. This is about $ 2,000. 4 months have passed. I periodically wrote to Ameen to clarify the refund deadlines, asking him to send at least part of the money. Each time he replied that he would return everything in the near future, but he constantly postponed the deadlines. And recently he stopped communicating altogether. I am starting to doubt the veracity of all the positive reviews on various platforms. The hotel itself may be good. But I want to warn all travelers that if you cancel your trip, you will not get your money back.

This place is pure magic! There is everything we could ask for: modern and super clean rooms,delicious fresh food,spectacular escursions and a special staff. We need to thank Ameen for taking care of every aspect of our Holiday, from the landing to Male to our departure. He and this staff are really amazing and you can really feel as you are a part of a big family. Of course the sea is beautiful especially in the nearby islands that you can visit daily. We spend there also the new year eve and it was by far the best one ever made, the organization was perfect and the private island is a little gem. Even with a couple of days of bad weather we didn't get bored thanks to all the possible activities: yoga session, gym, a lounge full of games ( ping pong, biliard and so on). I am looking forward for coming back in that paradise!
