Stay Hybrid Hostel

Nice hostel, convenient Clean and nice hostel with great friendly service. Kitchens were completely useless - no cooktops or ovens so real cooking was out of the picture, and what’s more we were woken up by phenomenally loud building works from within the hostel both nights. Nice place though, would still recommend for most.

The toilet doors was broken, and there was feces in many of the toilets. Not very impressed by any of the toilet in any of the floors... When we checked in, the refrigerator was full of moldy milk and cheese. Thats was gone the next day, so that's good. Our room was nice. Did not find any bedbugs and the room was clean. Not very soundproof rooms, but there was not much noise to complain about. Really liked the roofterrace, comfy seats and good view!

I was hesitant to book a bed at this hostel due to the raving reviews of another hostel in Thessaloniki, but the price is what drew me in. For a 4-night stay, the other establishment was charging €25 per night (€100) while this establishment was only charging €18 per night (€72). That price discrepancy makes a big difference when you’re on the fence about staying in a city for 3 nights or 4. I went with a 4-night stay at Stay Hybrid, and I’m so glad I did!! There was definitely a mosquito problem. Of course, this could have been combated by closing the window in the room. Unfortunately, the old lady staying in my room monopolized the AC remote and kept it with her in her bed. This was just one of those unfortunate quirks of hostel stays. I will note, however, that the lockers seemed to have questionable effectiveness. I was able to open my locker at this hostel with a key I had on me from a hostel in Sofia — how odd. I would recommend that future guests put valuables in the lockers at their own risk. Privacy curtains would have been nice, but I resorted to using towels. Fortunately, renting two towels (one medium-sized and one small) was only €2.5. I’ve had hostels charge up to €5 to rent a towel. I saw another review complaining about the heaviness of the duvet, which is interesting considering no one in my room received a duvet at all.

The overall design is quite cool but also practical and rather spacious. The room was well equipped with a desk & a rather uncomfortable chair, a bed (with a lamp towards the end if the bed — and thus not easy to reach), a wardrobe, aircon and a window that could be fully opened. The bathroom was good & very clean with a hot, powerful shower (no hairdryer; but could be borrowed at the reception). Unfortunately, there was a strong, unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom (drainage?) that I shut out by closing the bathroom door. The staff was multilingual and helpful (I got a very good bar recommendation and other tips concerning airport bus etc.). The common rooms were not exactly inviting in terms of furniture and design. However, the kitchen areas were super clean and provided microwaves, cookers and fridges on every floor. I also had a look at the shared bathrooms which were sparkling clean.

Great hostel at the city center, recommended rooms are clean locker into the room is included to the price but towels no, internet concexion is fast, i did not stayed for a long , other hosts were at their wind , not the most extrovertive as an experience

This hostel has been set up with thought and imagination. The beds are comfortable, with shelf, light and charging point, but no privacy curtains. The duvet however was too heavy and warm for early May. Each floor has its own common area, but the kitchens have no cooking facilities, only a microwave oven and a fridge. Security is very good, with a 24 hour front desk, keycard access to the room, and a key for the capacious locker for each bunk. The bathrooms are a little unnerving: translucent glass doors on the toilets and showers. The bathrooms are the achilles heel of the hostel: not thoroughly cleaned and broken fittings not fixed. If this lack of maintenance continues the hostel is going to deteriorate.
