This is an historic hotel and is IN the Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis. As a Best Western it has been upgraded recently with appropriate renovations. The best thing is the spa hot tub in the pretty courtyard with the swimming poo adjacent. The hot springs water pours right into the hot tub. The room was comfortable and as expected except for a few things. The curtains seemed to be worn and old roman shades that didn't work very well. The AC was a VERY loud portable unit that took up a lot of room and didn't cool very well. Staff was attentive, interesting and helpful (knew the history of the hotel). You have to ask for ice and they get it for you from the freezer in the kitchen area out of 10 pound bags, which was a little tedious but solved the ice problem.

This hotel to tough to rate because there are many good things and many bad. Our suite with a king bed, fridge and fireplace was great. It was spacious, and the bathroom must’ve been recently renovated and had all the modern necessities. The bed was quite comfortable. Our second story view was wonderful, from both the front and the back of the room. Having the hotel right in the Hot Springs Park is a real plus, as the park is beautiful and made for pleasant walks. Our biggest issue is the lack of proper air conditioning in some of the rooms. We had family in other rooms and one of them had to suffer through being hot with no A/C for 3 of 4 nights. The smell from the hotel’s mineral spring hot tub is sometimes unbearable. Sometimes it stinks to high heaven, and other time seems to not smell at all. A good tip would be to bring a candle for your room. The staff was at times ambivalent. An example would be them making us wait to check in. We arrived only 20 minutes before the 4PM check-in time, and were told as a matter of policy they won’t check anyone in before 4PM. A seemingly silly policy (if it’s even a real thing) because it caused a needless line of folks waiting to check in at 4. The evening cookies were wonderful, but the breakfast was tasteless. Next time in Thermopolis, we would try real hard to stay somewhere else. Best of luck to you, with regards to this Best Western

HVAC system didn't work, Room got down to 58 degrees and all they offered were extra blankets. Asked the manager for a refund that morning and got nothing but a snotty attitude and was told she would look into it and let me know. She blew it off and never contacted me. For a $190/night room you expect at least a comfortable sleeping enviroment. I'm going to report this BW to the Wyoming BBB.

Hotel is in need of some TLC. The beds are comfy and the rooms are clean but several things were broken and the quality was not what I expected from a BW hotel. Proximity to the springs was nice but could have stayed elsewhere cheaper. The “hot pot” they refer to is a tiny hot tub meant to accommodate the entire hotel. Not what I expected when I booked it.

I booked two rooms over a month ago and had confirmed that I would receive handicap rooms on the ground floor. Today we drive 5 hours to Thermopolis, WY and spent the day at the Hot Springs. After spending the day at the Hot Spring and dinner, we went to check-in around 7 pm. When we arrived, we were told they had no ground floor rooms available even though we had asked and had confirmation for them. This hotel does not have an elevator. The front desk assistant offered us 2 rooms on the 2nd floor. We showed and explained we could not go upstairs. There was no solution offered to us except that we could go somewhere else except all hotels in town were completely sold out. Our only choice was to drive 5 hours home with 3 little kids. It’s very disappointing that a hotel would be so careless especially over Memorial Day weekend. I hope this hotel or corporate will be reaching out and help us understand .

I’ve stayed at this hotel for seven plus years, every month of every year for those seven years. The service continues to decline, if they don’t mess up your reservations, you have to worry about whether or not you will have a heater or an air conditioner that works in your room or whether or not you will have hot water or a facet that doesn’t fall apart in your hands and won’t turn on. Rates continue to increase, with lack of service it is not worth the expense they want to charge you

This is an older hotel that has been renovated. Our room was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was definitely a newer mattress. The bathroom was clean but still showed some age. We really enjoyed the natural hot spring soak. Breakfast was nice there was a variety of options.
