Courtyard Houston the Woodlands

Problems from the start. I had to pay for the first night out of pocket, since this hotel refused the usual faxed credit card authorization from my employer and insists on the ise if dome obscure and difficult to use portal for authorizations, which is unavailable after hrs. The rooms are very dated with peeling paint in the bathroom, broken coffee maker, and phone chargers which use usb-A, which of course no one has a cable for...that is completely outdated. Worn and clattering old AC. The not exactly cheap price does not even include breakfast, which starts at $ 15 for some fried egg with bland toast. Even the cheapest budget hotels give that free. Never again Mariott.

This is a very mediocre hotel. Hotel is in need of renovation top to bottom. Very outdated rooms and bathrooms. Very limited amenities. Only the breakfast, while not free, was good. Will not stay at this location again. And its seems in general that Courtyards are just so so hotels

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL, AND MARRIOTT IN GENERAL! I am a consultant - When booking last-minute business travel on February 4th, I accidentally booked a night at this location for February 5th, when I already had a room for the same night booked at a hotel (another MARRIOTT PROPERTY) nearby. I realized my error immediately and went to cancel, but alas, I was inside of the 48-hour cancellation window (because it was the night before) I immediately called Marriott customer service to explain my issue. I was on the phone with Marriott customer service at 8:52pm, when the accidental booking went through at 8:46pm. Marriott customer service REFUSED to let me cancel my reservation without a penalty at this hotel even though I WAS ALREADY BOOKED FOR THAT NIGHT AT ANOTHER ONE OF THEIR PROPERTIES. I spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to reason with them. Finally, a customer service manager sent a message to this hotel location, explaining my situation and asking to honor a cancellation without a penalty. I called the hotel twice today, and nobody answered. I tried messaging them through the app, and they were largely unresponsive. Finally, almost 24 hours later, they sent me an email simply stating "Unfortunately we cannot waive the cancellation fee". As I said, I'm a consultant. I travel almost monthly - if this isn't fixed, I will never book a room at a Marriott hotel again. My marriott credit card will be canceled and I'll take my business elsewhere.
