My mom and me had very pleasant stay. It started of with a warmly welcome, some good tips for food and sights around the area, a brief but interesting explanation about the history of the building and town, an accompanied drink which is always a bonus and further a very decent breakfast, cosy atmosphere, comfortable beds and all very clean and tidy! Thanks again and certainly for the shovel, go and try it out!

Had a lovely night at the charming Lady Bowen Bed and Breakfast. The host was very knowledgeable about the old house and its history. We had a lovely big breakfast before we set off for the day. The bed was comfortable and the entire house was clean and inviting.

Our family had a wonderful time at the Lady Bowen Bed And Breakfast! The hosts Stu and Barbara were friendly and hospitable, the rooms were well appointed and beds comfortable. The welcome we received on arrival was wonderful, including some history of the building and surrounding area. A++ check in experience. The cooked breakfast was delicious and it was nice sitting in the dining hall chatting and having a slow-ish start to the morning. We would definitely stay here again. P.S Stu, the kids are wondering if the metal detector picked up anything out the front?!

More attentive host you cannot get Host went out of his way to help us with the Hauraki trail cycle preparations and info Phoned us when it got dark and we had not arrived back from our cycle. Excellent place to stay for Hauraki trail cycle big groups have huge breakfast table and lounge with beautiful pool table . Ample secure space for bikes in the back garden .

Very welcoming hosts. Clean and comfortable, cosy bed and a beautiful breakfast supplied. Would absolutely stay there again. Lovely to see a resident cat and to see the historical journey of the Lady Bowen adorning the walls. Convenient location to the town.

Our stay at this wonderful place was absolutely perfect. The booking process was smooth and easy, and from the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome. Barbara and Stu are such warm and kind hosts – everything felt very personal and heartfelt. The house itself is beautiful and full of character, with a rich sense of history that made it feel like staying in someone’s lovingly cared-for home. Every arrangement worked out perfectly, and we felt completely at ease throughout our time there. We would come back in a heartbeat – highly recommended!

Lady Bowen B&B is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in, in NZ. Thames is so quaint and peaceful and is a perfect (quick) getaway from the rat race in Auckland. We did the Pinnacles walk and then the cycle trail. We ate at Eretas Tapas and Tacos Bar twice! - absolutely superb.

Great selection of room combinations for families to stay. Or just one person. I have done both. The welcome is always warm if you are first time guest or a repeat guest. Everything is clean and crisp in the historic bedrooms, and the tea/coffee /cold water table on that floor is replenished frequently. The bathroom facility is shared, the only downside, but with 4 toilet cubicles and 4 basins and 3 shower cubicles there is no queuing. Just remember to wear your dressing gown! The balcony and communal rooms and the garden are beautifully done for guests to enjoy, and the breakfasts are superb.
