If you are seeking Silence (with a capital S), rest, and peace, you will find it at Arukah. Nestled on a hillside overlooking a valley, dam, and stunning cliffs, this location offers a truly unspoiled Eastern Free State landscape, just 2 km from the farmstead and farm activities.The rural setting is surrounded by horses, farm animals, and springboks in the game camp, as well as a wide variety of birds—from cormorants and Egyptian geese to herons and swallows, and the noisy Hadeda ibises that take flight when disturbed, glossy starlings, and many more. This historically rich area is represented by an engraved laundry tub and sheep dip in a stone kraal, dating back to early farming techniques, carved from typical sandstone against the slope.The living area is especially artistically decorated.. Nearly every cupboard, shelf, bedside table, or even the kitchen island is unique, using old materials. The open outdoor area lends itself to good exercise, featuring medium-sized walking trails.True to its name, the effect of Arukah is indeed healing for the modern, rushed mind, and this facility is highly recommended. Moolmanshoek was an absolute paradise for us. I have rarely seen or experienced such a place where everything is just perfect. The surrounding nature, the well-kept property, the lovely people, great horses and rides, the delicious food, beautiful rooms. I am so grateful for everything!

I went to Moolmanshoek for the first time this year, after hearing about it from many friends. I joined an equestrian group of friends that go annually. What a life changing and incredibly amazing experience. I cannot thank Lindy and Weisman enough for the opportunity! The staff were amazing and our every need was catered for - I only wish I didn’t live so far from them so I could visit more often!

I stayed six nights at Moolmanshoek. I loved it! The horses are amazing and the landscape is out of this world! I loved the endurance with Wiesman: 30 km almost nonstop. Thank you so much Lindy for the marvellous rides too. The wildlife is diverse and I really enjoyed all the motion around me. The room was very peaceful and offered a beautiful view. The food was good. And the staff was so friendly and professional. A five star place. I will be back!
