The Close Hotel

We had a great time in Tetbury and our stay in the Close hotel was 5*. Staff were great, room was excellent and the Hotel was amazing. Tony.

Loved this hotel, beautifully decorated in keeping with a period property. We stayed in the Dove room which was a great size and overlooked the garden. Nice areas to sit in and great location. Staff were very friendly & efficient. Food was very good

We loved our overnight stay here. Beautiful heritage building with attractive gardens. Good location in the centre of Tetbury and handy for Highgrove and Westonbirt Arboretum. We had a great room (Jubilee) on the top floor - spacious, quiet, well decorated, pretty quiet, and very comfortable. Helpful staff. There's no lift, but our bag was carried up for us, so it wasn't an issue. We chose to have dinner at the hotel, which was absolutely delicious. It was a warm evening and so we had a drink in the garden first and then ate in the restaurant overlooking the garden. The brill and bream main course options were outstanding. Breakfast the following morning was equally good. Highly recommended.

Great old Hotel in Tetbury. Stayed in the Nightingale room. Spacious bedrooms & bathroom. Brilliant restaurant both breakfast & dinner. With any luck Liv will be your host at dinner.

The Close Hotel is our go-to weekend away Hotel. We are only about 90 minutes away so it's not too far. We both love the hotel but I can't really articulate exactly why. It just seems to get the balance right, between being stylish, comfortable and exciting. We stay in lots of other hotels but nothing really matches the elegant affordability of The Close. We like the pig hotels but they are a lot more expensive so we don't go so often. I can forgive the fact that the carpet leading through from a reception to the bar is a bit worn. Frankly I don't really care - it's an old building and I don't want it to feel crisp and polished. The beds and the pillows and everything else are absolutely fantastic. We spent ages just dozing off whilst reading a book. Occasionally getting up to see if the weather was still atrocious! I have to say we ate in the hotel both nights. I had five different dishes across the two nights and the food was absolutely fantastic. It's so great to eat somewhere that has such exquisite food at a relatively good price. Special mention goes to the lovely lady who was working behind the bar on Friday and Saturday. She's great. Really engaging. Very customer focused. Tetbury is also a really interesting little town to spend a bit of time in, and the hotel is right in the centre.
