Holiday Inn Express & Suites Terrell

The staff is what saved this hotel. I had two rooms. The first room was ok, however the second room smelled of heavy bleach all throughout the room. So strong that our eyes were being affected. The bed linens were damp feeling. The bathroom had was so humid that sweat had formed on the floor, causing my spouse to slip but thankfully didn't fall completely. I went to ask for a room change. The evening staff were very friendly and came up to the room and acknowledged all the complaints were valid. Got the room changed. The breakfast was very average and not very impressive. I have had better from other IHG properties.

Rooms that smell funny with dirty linens and unclean floors, bathrooms with dirty towels and dirty showers in an area that seems unsafe (big paper signs plastered on the entry doors saying things like "no public restrooms" should give you an idea) with frequent police patrols.

The staff from the moment we walked in was incredibly helpful. We asked for a dinner recommendation and ended up having the best dinner we've had for quite some time. I didn't realize I left my little portable speaker but they gave us a call on our way home and arranged first to get it back. Very happy with the service!

We were driving thru Texas from Tucson and stopped at the last minute. Hotel was nice and clean. We walked in around 10:30pm and were greeted right away. Got a room. The room was clean and very quiet even though it wasnt too far from the hwy. continental breakfast was included. Good selection of food to choose from. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Had a good time with the wife, it was a nice place. Service was good. The lady even gave us a discount as it was so late when we came to the hotel. I will surely stay here again. And I will recommend to friends and family. It was in 2021 though, but they do not go back that far.

I was glad to find this on I-20 after a long day of driving. It was a pleasant, clean and comfortable place. The king room was spacious. It's an older facility so I used my own phone charger. There were fast food options nearby where I was able to pick up a bite. The staff was welcoming and helpful. They made me feel valued. Breakfast was included. I will make it a point to stay here again.

I want to say first that the Staff was very friendly and extremely polite. We where greeted with a warm welcome & nice conversation. However that was the best and only good part of our 2.5 hour stay. When entering we noticed an overwhelming smell that can only be best described as a pesticide.. Checked in & looked around room. I saw that the toilet needed to be flushed & bathroom sink was clogged with cloudy standing water in it. We reported and issue was resolved very quickly. Unfortunately after that things did not improve. The overall condition of this room was unsanitary and unacceptable.. Furniture was in extremely poor condition & falling apart, dead bugs stuck to walls and curtains. Chair cushions had disgusting stains all over. Bathroom had a very moldy shower head & bubbled up moldy paint, their appeared to have been a leak above shower that was poorly patched. Both Beds where broken. 1 was broken down on one side making mattress almost touch the floor, the other felt like mattress was sinking. Carpet was dirty and not completely vacuumed. We let them know how extremely unhappy we where with room provided to us. They could not offer any solutions to the problems as the hotel was "sold out". We where also told we could check out. We chose to check out & stay elsewhere. Guest services was very apologetic. But we just where just not comfortable staying here and overpaying for a filthy room.

The check-in staff was very friendly. They gave me a pin to put on a large map to designate “home”. I really enjoyed chatting with them and they are the only reason they get two out of five stars instead of one out of five stars. The next morning, however, there was a very large roach crawling around on the walls in the bathroom and hallway of my room. I was on the fourth floor, so I imagine it should have been difficult for a roach to find its way to the interior of a hotel on the fourth floor. When I went down to mention the roach to the ladies at the checkout desk, one of the ladies looked slightly concerned and said nothing. One of the ladies proceeded to argue with me and let me know that it was just a “waterbug”. This tells me, that the staff is aware that there are roaches in their hotel. also, water bugs don’t have long antennae. Cockroaches have long antennae. So, not only was she not concerned about the fact that there were roaches, she also had the audacity to argue with me about said insect. The lack of concern for the roach’s appearance is disgusting to me. It ruins the brand name of Holiday Inn. I’ve stayed at many Holiday Inn express hotels across the state of Texas and this one ranks at the absolute bottom of my list because she was not concerned for the cleanliness of their hotel. And this woman was in charge of breakfast. So, if she’s okay with roaches being in the hotel then I wonder what is in the food.

Very nice hotel. Great staff. Easy access to the interstate. They upgraded my room. The breakfast was hot and plentiful. I asked for a high floor and away from the elevator with extra pillows. Everything was in order and sometimes this request is not honored.
