This place is awesome if you are looking for a recharge! Calm, quiet, spacious, beautiful and meditative. Room is big, with everything you may need during your stay. Onsen is small but cozy and nice, men and women onsen changes in the evening, kaiseki is huge and interesting but mostly with fish. Staff is very nice and helpful. In the evening you can relax in the lobby or in the music zone overlooking the garden. The village itself is tiny but charming, nature is perfect and there are plenty of things to see around! Definitely recommend for everybody seeking peace!

Amazing place! We were pleasantly surprised that there was a private onsen in the room (we thought it would be a regular bath with a beautiful view). Thanks to the hosts for the hospitality, delicious dinner and breakfast and a wonderful experience of sleeping on tatami. Your hotel will forever be in my heart! ❤️

Excellent stay in Hanaya Tokubei!!! Thank you!!! We stayed here for only 1 day, everything was top notch, the hardest part is getting here (buses only run 3 times a day), but it's definitely worth it!!! We checked into a spacious room in a traditional style, we were given yukatas - traditional clothes, you could go outside in them to take pictures. There are 2 small onsen with very hot water, I liked the one on the left with a panoramic window to the street, to the Red Gate. After a hot bath, your body feels very relaxed, it's great to go to a room with light jazz music and relax there and enjoy your rest. And then it's time for kaiseki - an aesthetic and delicious dinner - which perfectly completes this wonderful day. The next morning they serve an equally wonderful breakfast. After checking out, you can leave your suitcase in the lobby and go for a walk around Dorogava, namely to the 2 caves and ride the monorails leading to them. It was a perfect holiday, really enjoyed it, thankful for this experience!

A very quiet hot spring town. The hotel has a history of 500 years. The hotel has only 6 rooms. The only shortcoming is the public toilet. It is also an experience. Soak in the hot spring and be in a daze.

It is located quite far away, it is difficult to combine it with a trip to any attractions. In winter, buses go to the village only a few times a day, and the village itself looks deserted. But the hotel itself is great. Wooden building, but everything is in very good condition. 2 onsen, one with a view of a beautiful small garden. On the 2nd floor there is a chill zone with cool acoustics. Despite the minus outside, it was warm. Well, the full set: traditional rooms with tatami and futons, traditional clothing, cool dinner / breakfast. There are places to walk in the area, so it might be a good idea to stay here for a couple of nights, but probably not in winter.

Very good hotel. I liked everything, the room, the hospitality, the food. The village itself is very authentic, not many people. Definitely one of the best memories of Japan.

The meal was very delicious! Very kid friendly too. Knowing that we were going to feed the fish, he gave us a lot of shrimp cakes and enthusiastically introduced and guided nearby tourist routes. A place steeped in history.

I didn't expect that a five-hundred-year-old hotel deep in the mountains of Nara would be so exquisite. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Dining is in the room. The staff will prepare dinner in the living room outside, which is very ceremonial. My favorite is Goukinoyu. The hot spring has great scenery and is very comfortable and relieves stress. The Vietnamese lady in the hotel can speak Chinese and can communicate easily. The only drawback may be that there is no independent bathroom. The entire hot spring street is very beautiful and it will be more atmospheric when lit up at night. I believe this is a hotel I will stay at again.

We booked a room with a private bathroom. Ideal for guests with tattoos or a romantic evening.

It is one of the hot spring hotels recommended by the official WeChat of the Japan National Tourism Administration and has a history of 500 years. Although it was already around 20 degrees in Osaka when we arrived, we were still lucky enough to catch the snow here and soak in the hot springs in the snow. I felt extremely happy. The room was comfortable and spacious. The tatami is very comfortable. Although the female staff doesn't know much English, she is very active in finding ways to communicate with guests. She is very friendly and dedicated. There is a large cherry blossom tree in the hotel courtyard that should be beautiful when it is in full bloom. The jazz lounge is so flavorful that you will not want to leave the hotel. Tianshan Village is very peaceful and a rare accommodation experience. Friends who arrive by bus don’t have to worry too much. The station where you get off is about a 7-minute walk from the hotel. Please feel free to call the hotel in advance and ask them to pick you up. The service is super good.

Very nice place with picturesque scenery, clean rooms and friendly staff. The bathrooms are clean, well maintained, and there are even private baths for rent. The food is very tasty and filling. The bathrooms are clean, renovated and do not create a negative impression. In addition to the springs themselves, there are beautiful places around and places to walk. An excellent place for a family holiday or a creative trip.

I have stayed at many inns, but this is the worst inn I have ever stayed at. First, when I tried to enter the large public bath in the evening, both were men's baths and there was no women's bath, so I couldn't enter. There were a lot of male guests that day, so without any notice, both of the two large public baths were changed to men's baths. It's unbelievable. There was no prior notice. I stayed at the inn looking forward to the hot springs, and when I went to the large public bath, both were men's baths and I couldn't enter the hot springs... I was stunned by how bad it was. After that, I received a call from my room apologizing, and was told that they would be taking a bath in the room and then the women's bath, so they would tell me again after it had changed, so I should enter then. After finishing dinner, I entered the large public bath, which had been changed to women's bath. (They said they would tell me when it changed to women's bath, but they didn't say anything. I ended up checking it myself.) Since my room was on the fourth floor, it was very difficult to go back and forth between the large public bath on the first floor and the room, and I was tired. Next, when I checked in, I was told that the large public bath would be switched between the men's and women's baths at 9 p.m., so I waited to enter the other large public bath at the time the large baths were switched at 9 p.m. But even at 9pm, nothing had changed... Why? Around 10pm, people who looked like employees were in the women's bath, which was supposed to have been turned into a men's bath? It looked like... Huh, why? It was so strange that I called the front desk and asked why they had been told that it would be switched at 9pm, but had been waiting all this time and still hadn't been switched. They told me that there were no plans to switch the baths for men and women today. I was stunned for the second time. When I asked for more details, they said it was a staff member's miscommunication. Apparently, they usually switch at 9pm, but today was an exception. No matter how much of an exception it was, it had nothing to do with us. I was caught up in a miscommunication and was at the mercy of the inn's convenience, ruining my precious birthday trip. My plans were constantly messed up. I wasted precious time. They told me to wait because they were about to switch the baths, so I had to wait again... There were a lot of ascetics staying that day, but they were drinking and shouting and making a lot of noise. Do they know that there are regular customers? If they are going to accept reservations from general customers on a travel site, shouldn't they explain that in more detail? (I received an email saying that a monk would be staying there. It also said that it was not very quiet, but it was far beyond the nuances written in the email, and the cancellation fee is charged one month in advance, so I couldn't cancel anyway. They sent me an email too late. If this is the case, they should shorten the cancellation period.) It's just too bad in so many ways. On the stairs at night, elementary school students? They were making loud phone calls even though it was past midnight... Isn't this inappropriate when there are rooms nearby? Don't the staff or parents warn them? At breakfast, something like boiled carrots were served, but the carrots were not peeled. When I asked if it was the specification and the skin was still on, they said they would change it... What, it's not that the skin is on for nutritional reasons, but just that they forgot to peel it...? ? There were a lot of things going on and I wasn't in the mood to eat it, so I declined. Then the staff sighed loudly as they left. I was shocked, or what... What is the compliance of this inn? I felt very uncomfortable and disappointed when they sighed loudly. The carrots were not even peeled and had a blackened skin. By the way, as an apology for the inconvenience when I checked out, they offered me a free drink and bath tax for dinner... I've stayed at many inns all over Japan, but this was the first time I've ever wanted to leave. I was saddened by the bad impression of Dorogawa Onsen, which I had been looking forward to for months. It was a shame because the nighttime streetscape of Dorogawa Onsen was very beautiful and lovely.
