Staying in a pub can be a bit hit or miss but this is definitely a hit. Room wasn’t huge but had everything we needed. The bed is comfortable, the place is spotlessly clean and well maintained and the staff are an absolute credit. We had an evening meal and breakfast, both of which were pretty spectacular and it was quiz nite in the bar so it was busy, which was lovely to see. If we were looking for somewhere to stay in this area, I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

The Temple Inn, resting roadside in the village of Temple Cloud, has proven a real find. We used this as a stop-off point as we travelled from the north of England to Cornwall. The village is situated between Bristol and Bath and the inn is smack bang in the middle of it. Opposite is a very useful garage and shop. The Temple Inn provides top quality food and accommodation in a very friendly setting. We dined here both nights and had breakfast on both mornings. The food was superb - we sampled outstanding seafood and fish dishes, as well as a great burger and gammon steak. Breakfast too was fantastic - freshly cooked to order. The accommodation is fine and it’s dog friendly (as is the restaurant/pub). All rooms face away from the busy road and provide ample space. The beds are very comfortable and the en-suite features a walk-in shower. Our room was equipped with tea/coffee and a fan. That fan was needed as the room is naturally warm, but don’t let that put you off. The Temple Inn is a gem and if we didn’t live so far away, we would visit more often. It’s a great base from which to explore Bristol, Bath, Cheddar Gorge and the breathtaking cathedral in Wells. We hope to return one day.

We have a habit of picking random places to stay for a couple of days if we want to get away. Most of the time.this works and this was no exception. This is a great place. The room, while on the small side, was clean and comfortable. The staff and hosts were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are all in a separate building next to the pub so you have a short walk in the fresh air for breakfast in the morning or for a drink in the evening, but it's worth the walk. The bar has a great atmosphere and the food, if you want to eat there, is great. It was a great base to explore the area from.

The rooms were in a self contained area at the side of the pub. Rooms were small but adequate and clean. If I had one thing I would suggest it would be a plain net curtain, as you are very overlooked when the Roman blind is open, oh and some fluffy pillows as they were a very pancake like. The pub was really welcoming and staff friendly. Breakfast was included and had a really good choice, including full breakfast, veggie breakfast, pancakes, muesli and crushed avocado with salmon and poached egg. Would really recommend this place, as you do need a car as nothing is on your doorstep, but a good starting place for most areas of interest

After a warm and friendly greeting from our host, we were shown to our rooms. They were spotless with tasteful decor and very comfortable. We didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening as we were going to a wedding reception. We did however have the most delicious breakfast the next morning. We would definitely stay here again, it was just lovely.

I had the pleasure of staying 6 nights at The Temple Inn whilst working at a nearby village. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on and I had a really peaceful sleep. Everything has been thought through carefully with sufficient coat hangers, a really good hairdryer and enough shelf space for your clothes as well as a storage area for your bags and laptop. The tv was a really large one mounted on the wall with a crystal clear picture and easy to use remote. There was bottled water and tea, coffee and hot chocolate with biscuits which was replenished each day. The bedding and towels were changed regularly, it might have even been every day and when I returned to my room each night it looked as if I had just arrived, all neat and tidy and clean. The shower was also a good size with a powerful shower head and hot water all the time. Lee made a special effort to make me feel welcome at all times making sure everything was to my satisfaction. Thanks very much for a lovely stay!

The host are very friendly and helpful. The bar/restaurant was buzzing and cozy with a lovely log fire. After some of the best cooked pub food we have ever had, ( fish and chips and the lamb on the first night were to die for) we drank local cider and played cards all evening. The rooms are cozy, small but pristine and with everything you need. Breakfast was delicious and generous. The parking is good and the inn is well located for sightseeing: Bruton, newt inn gardens, wells cathedral, Bristol etc. Well done - great stay. Cannot recommend this Inn enough.
