Hotel is tired and rooms are basic. Bathroom especially was like student accommodation or a basic travel lodge but 4x the price!
Spa facilities were all closed.
Staff unhelpful and didn’t care.

I go to the UK once or twice every year. This time, the experience was very bad. The room was very small, the facilities were very poor, and I had to go to the corridor to drink water. Hotel is in a great location. Great facilities on site.
The room we stayed in was a little small and dated but clean and in good working order. TV was only about 20” so on the small side.
Breakfast was pretty good, let down by the dried out hash browns and fried eggs, otherwise it would have been much better.

The room is also very clean and quite large. The breakfast is OK. It feels like all hotel breakfasts in the UK are the same. The hotel is far from the city. It costs 8 or 9 pounds to take a taxi from the hotel to the subway during off-peak hours and 18 or 19 pounds during busy hours. It was clear that they were understaffed. We had to wait an extra 30 minutes to check into our room because it was not ready. Food was not served quickly - we had to ask waiters to get us drinks (they initially told us to order our own drinks at the bar). Other couples were given tables ahead of us even though we were waiting in line first. Overall poor service for the whole weekend. The amenities are great - good food, leisure facilities and spa.
