We just had lunch and the service was appalling. The staff appeared to be totally uninterested in their jobs and after we were served none of the waiters attended our table to ask how our meal was. Neither did they ask us if we would like to see the pudding menu nor if we’d like coffee. There was little communication from them whatsoever and as we left no one said goodbye or thanked us for coming. The staff appear to have been very poorly trained. Two of us had fish and chips and we received miserable portions of fish which were predominantly batter for a cost of nearly £20 per portion. In Oban and Port Appin, for the same price, we received fantastic quality fish and sizeable portions. My advice is to keep on driving and go to Oban.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ben Cruachan Inn. Our room was large, comfortable and modern. Friendly and very helpful staff, and the food in the restaurant was fantastic. We loved hanging out at the bar / lounge area which was cozy and fun. Plenty of parking. Good room amenities (minus refrigerator). Lovely area within walking distance to Lock Awe and St Conan's Kirk, and a short drive to Kilchurn Castle. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would plan to stay here again in the future.

Great food and great service, both at dinner and breakfast. Staff work really hard to ensure service is timely and friendly. Room comfortable as was the bed. Passed by many times or just popped in for coffee. So glad this time we ate and stayed.

Location: Directly across the road from the train station (from the platform, go towards the car park and up the slope. Taking the stairs will lead you to another hotel). Watch out for the fast-moving traffic though! Tranquil. Provision shop/post office next door. Facilities: Handicap lift. Liquid shower gel, shampoo and lotion provided in dispenser bottles. Spacious wardrobe. Plastic chair for use in toilet during bathing if aid is needed. Very conveniently has a gastropub downstairs. Room: Total of 5 rooms. From the stairs, Room 1 is on the right and Rooms 2 to 5 are on the left. Extremely spacious. Clean. Housekeeping does not appear to be on a daily basis but you can request for whatever is running low (e.g. toilet paper, towels) and it will be promptly provided. Has alarm in room to call for help in the event of medical emergencies or accidents. Service: Very friendly and helpful.

We recently stayed in the Inn for 4 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The Inn is well kept and very comfortable; relaxed bar and dining area (with an extensive range of gins), good heating in common spaces and bedrooms (not too hot and not too cold), comfortable beds, bright and roomy bathroom. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and relaxed (and obviously enjoyed working at the Inn). They were always available if you needed anything but not intrusive. And coming back after being out exploring to have a quiet drink in their bar was the perfect way to end the day. So easy to get the train into Oban for the day as well.

A lovely stay in a one bedroom apartment (with pull out sofa bed) staff couldn’t do enough and the inn was lovely and welcoming. Spotless, with amenities including microwave, hob (pots n pans) kettle, toaster, all utensils, mugs, glasses and wine glasses. On a stunning location. The inn has lovely food n drink and there is a newsagents right next door - we got a slice roll n tea the next morning. A real gem of a place. Just book it. Perfect for couples.

Recnlty returned from a wonderful long weekend break with family! Truly exceptional lodges, (we had 2), thoroughly enjoyed the view from our outside decking! We all had a truly wonderful restful time. Fabulously dog friendly (even with our Great Dane!) and the food was to die for. Staff hospitality and kindness were second to none!. We were truly blown away by the accommodation and staff/food! Local produce/sausages etc in breakfast was so tasty and delicious and evening meals were to such a high standard in quality, taste and presentation! . 5 stars all round! We will be back for sure! Phenomenal team work makes this a such a brilliant wee gem in Loch Awe! Well done all! :)

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment with lovely views from the deck. The apartment is quite small but it is very modern and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The small kitchen was well equipped and toiletries were provided. We hope to return sometime.
