Stayed for one night as we were looking for somewhere to stay close to Vivary Park. The room itself was of a good size with quality bedding and towels provided. It was clean with a flat screen TV and tea making facilities. The breakfast was very good indeed. Large selection of cereals and condiments. The full English was lovely, one of the best I've had. Only negative was the carpets in the communal areas which could do with changing or new flooring laid. Also some of the decor is a little dated, but I suppose that this is an old country pub. Overall an excellent stay with exceeded food. Oh and the host is a bit of a character.

My partner and I booked dinner and had a lovely evening. Food portions were huge and it was very tasty. Excellent service as well made for a wonderful experience and great value for money. If we are back in the area again we will definitely return!

Extremely comfortable room with its own exterior access. Very simple, clean and clean comfortable. Very comfy bed. Lovely big fried breakfast in the morning with a choice of cereals. Very friendly host. Just what was needed for a very tired soul working nearby for the weekend.

Unpretentious and welcoming local pub. Mine Host Patrick is friendly and spares the time for a chat. Charlton and Dartford FC fans are especially welcome ! Beer garden is lovely in the summer months. The food is generally basic but very tasty. Overal this is an excellent pub well worth visiting.

Lovely food and generous portions, the chicken was to die for! Food and drinks were good value for money. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and our waiter Mark was very pleasant 🙂 we will definitely come back if we are in the area again

Wonderful traditional pub/b&b. I stayed for 2 nights whilst down in Somerset, comfy beds and good sized rooms. The shared bathroom wasn't an issue, if anything it adds to the character. Really enjoyed the food, lots of options on the menu and specials board, and there is a great selection of local ales and cider on tap. Would definitely stay here again.

Best village pub ever! Friendly landlord & staff. Excellent food, generous servings, reasonably priced. We come back here time & time again, always very good. Would highly recommend! Also has quiz nights, curry nights & a three day beer & cider festival for three days at the end of July with many musical artists to enjoy! Don’t miss out on this little jewel ! 👍🎶🥂

Had a meal in their restaurant which had a wide choice of meals, well priced and when served was delicious and with ample quantity. The staff were courteous, made sure we were satisfied and were efficient delivering the meals in a timely manner. The publican was jolly, welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere was cordial. In all a good memorable experience.

A proper village pub with great food and atmosphere. Friendly staff and a comfortable room made it a very pleasant stay. The pub is ideally located for a visit to Taunton for the cricket! Thoroughly recommended.
