The hotel in the middle of the moutain. Indeed!!!
The hotel is just short walk from the bus stop. Room was huge, well equiped with amenities. They also provide the skin care as well. The hotel dinner was really good. It was the japanese course with free flow drink. (Sake, Fruit liquir, beer, soft drink). There are a lot of activities inc. Walking on Midagahara wetlands, stargage (japanese only). The hotel is just next to Midagahara wetland which you can enjoy the view of seacloud in the evening and the stunning view of glassland and the mountain in the morning. 10 of 10.

The hotel is very close to the station, and the walking trail is right next to the hotel, and the walking trail is very suitable for people who don't get enough exercise on weekdays. We were lucky enough to see the sea of clouds, blue sky, and stars as we approached mid-October, which was very touching. Coffee is served in the lobby after 3pm, and the quality of dinner and buffet breakfast is surprisingly good. It was the first time I encountered free flow of dinner drinks! The staff are very friendly and polite, and their English level is unexpectedly higher than other cities in Japan, making it easy to communicate with ease. For anyone travelling along the Tateyama Alpine route, I would highly recommed a stay on the mountain so you can enjoy the scenery without rushing. We love Ryokan (Traditional Japanese Inn) because they always offer delicious course meals (dinner & breakfast) and a public bath. We even enjoyed a free flow of local sake and liquor at dinner! The Midagahara Hotel even offer hiking guides, boots and stargazing guides after dinner. It was a shame that we did not take the hiking trail due to the weather condition (foggy and low visibility), but the stargazing part did not disappoint - we were able to see a sky full of stars by our bare eyes. If we could withstand the cold we could have seen the Milky Way. The hotel shop also offers a wide range of local specialties. We had a nice sleep in our Japanese style room and woke up to a sea of clouds. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Tateyama Alpine route.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is 2 minutes away from the Midoyuan bus. The Midoyuan Plain Hiking Trail starts from the hotel, which is very convenient. The hotel service is attentive, and galoshes and crutches are placed at the door for hotel guests to use when hiking. The food in the hotel was very good and the hot springs were great.
